On the 50th anniversary of Wilt Chamberlain’s 100 point night, the 76ers defeated the Warriors 105-83, scoring over 100 points for the first time in 20 games.
Dick Bavetta reffed this game, and his was a 22 year old college student when Wilt went for 100. To put that in perspective, the mother of the games leading scorer (Lou Williams) was yet to be born when Chamberlain hit the century mark.
The home team had only two players score more than 14 points, and they both came off of the bench. Five different players also recorded at least five rebounds.
All Star Andre Iguodala made a three pointer, and has now made at least one triple in 84.2% of his last 19 games, a big improvement after making a trey in 66.7% of his first 18 games to open the season. He has tied a season high with three straight games of at least six assists.
Only three 76ers recorded an offensive rebound.
Jrue Holiday, among the league leaders in plus/minus ratio, led all players with a +24 ratio. He also made three three pointers, after not making a single one in five of his last six games. Holiday scored 13 points, his most common point total in 2011-2012. He scores exactly 13 points in 18.9% of the games this season.
The 76ers won for the first time since January 27th when hometown boy Lavoy Allen grabs at least seven rebounds.
Evan Turner (4 points) has gone 13 games without recording double figure point totals, and has shot under 50% in 10 straight.
David Lee didn’t turn the ball over in 41 minutes of action, the forth time he hasn’t thrown the ball away in a game this season. The Warriors had won the previous three.
40% of Golden State’s starters combined for one field goal attempt and 0 points.
Monta Ellis has missed 10 consecutive three pointers, and has attempted 49 field goals in the last two games. For reference, Andris Biedrins has started 29 games and only attempted 50 shots for the entire season. The high scoring Ellis has scored at least 20 points in five of his last six.
Less is more for Klay Thompson. The rookie forward has played 20+ minutes in 14 games this season, with his team coming out victorious on three times.
Dominic McGuire has grabbed 21 rebounds in his last two games, but it has taken him 18 games to score 21 points.
