ROCHESTER, NY — Vince Goldsberry had a triple-double and Lionel Armstead led all scorers with 31 points as the Charleston Gunners came into Rochester for the first time and defeated the RazorSharks 119-111 on an afternoon game for Martin Luther King, Jr. Day.
Goldsberry finished with 19 points, 14 assists, and 10 rebounds while almost playing in the entire game. Armstead’s 31 points included six three-point baskets. Other game highs for the Gunners included Will Collin’s 21 points, 18 points coming from James Helton, and Jamaal Caternia chipping in with 13 points.
The game featured a combined 57 player fouls and Rochester playing from behind in the entire second half. Every time the RazorSharks would hit a big shot to get the game within reach and the crowd back into it, Charleston would answer with a three point basket or a big play to silence the crowd. Th win today helped improve the Gunners record to 2-2.
Leading the way for the RazorSharks were Jamaal Davis, who finished with 22 points and 14 rebounds, and Melvin Council who finished with 17 points and eight assists. Tasheed Carr and Johnny Mayhane finished with 15 and 12 points, respectively. The loss puts the RazorSharks record at 3-1.
