UNIVERSITY OF RICHMOND, Va. – Sophomore Cedrick Lindsay scored 19 points and junior Darien Brothers had 17 to lead four Spiders in double-figures as Richmond defeated Liberty 77-61 Wednesday night in the Robins Center.
Lindsay made 5-of-7 field goals and 3-of-4 three-pointers, along with dishing out four assists.
Brothers made 6-of-9 field goals, grabbed eight rebounds and dished out four assists as he scored in double-figures for the fifth-straight game and took over the team lead in scoring at 13.9 points per game.
Senior Josh Duinker scored 12 points, making 5-of-7 field goals and both three-point attempts. Sophomore Derrick Williams had 11 points and senior Darrius Garrett had eight points, making all four shot attempts.
Garrett blocked two shots, bringing him within five blocks of the school record held by Tim Faulconer.
The Spiders (8-6) finish non-conference play on Friday afternoon at 4 p.m. against UNC-Greensboro. Richmond will honor 2011 graduate Kevin Anderson by raising his banner to the rafters alongside the select company of Dick Tarrant, Johnny Newman and Warren Mills.
