PHILADELPHIA (12/12/11) – Temple University senior guard Ramone Moore was named the Philadelphia Big 5 Player of the Week for the week ending Sunday, December 10. Moore shared the honor with Carl Jones of Saint Joseph’s.
The 6-4 Philadelphia native (Southern HS) averaged 20 points, 5.5 rebounds and 4.5 assists per game in leading the Owls to a 2-0 week. Moore scored a season-low eight points, but dished out a season-huih in the Owls’ 77-58 win at Toledo (Dec. 7). He then erupted for a career-high 32 points to lead the Cherry and White to a 78-67 win over Big 5 rival Villanova in front of a sellout crowd and national television (ESPN2) audience Saturday.
Moore leads Temple and ranks second in the A10 in scoring with an 18.4 points per game average. He also tops the Owls in minutes played (37.5 mpg.) and ranks second on the team in assists (28) and three-pointers made (13).
It is the first A-10 Player of the Week honor of his career and his fifth career Big 5 Player of the Week honor.
