PHILADELPHIA – Jermaine Davis (Garfield Heights, Ohio / Garfield Heights) has signed a national letter of intent to compete for the La Salle men’s basketball program, head coach Dr. John Giannini announced today. Davis (6-9, 270) was the sixth man on the Garfield Heights team that reached the state semifinals last winter.
Davis, along with current Penn State freshman Trey Lewis, helped Garfield Heights to a 24-2 record. Saint Joseph’s guard Carl Jones is also a Garfield Heights graduate.
“We are very excited about working with someone of Jermaine’s potential and character,” Giannini said. “He is only beginning to approach his potential on the floor. He has tremendous size and strength and surprising skills and explosiveness for a big man.
“As he gains experience and improves his conditioning, he has a chance to be an outstanding player. His mom, Vanessa, and his coach, Sonny Johnson, have instilled great values in him that bode well for his future.”
