PS College Football Poll

With none of the top teams faltering, the Pickin Splinters top 15 remains headed by the LSU Tigers. Unbeaten Illinois finds its way on our list, in a three way tie for 15th. Alabama is nipping at the heels of Oklahoma for that ever important second ranking, and the rights to play in the PSCS (Pickin Splinter championship series) national title game.

 LSU (4) 102
 Oklahoma (2) 94
 Alabama (1) 92
 Boise State 82
 Wisconsin 80
 Stanford 63
 Oklahoma State 59
 Clemson 58
 Texas 42
 Michigan 36
 Oregon 29
 Georgia Tech 26
 Arkansas 11
 South Carolina 11
 Auburn 10
 Florida 10
 Illinois 10

Good to see Clemson getting the respect on the Pine. After that impressive showing over the weekend – they are for real.

Two ACC teams! Wow! Maybe there is something to the Big East schools making the jump.

Clemson will be tested the rest of the way. Three roads including tilts at G-Tech and South Carolina.

Agreed on Clemson. They’ve beaten three ranked opponents in a row, after barely squeaking by Wofford.

I caught a little of the hurtin’ they put on Va Tech. They almost looked for real.

I haven’t had a chance to watch much college football yet this year, so I’m like the Billy Beane of our CFB poll. I only judge ’em by the results. 🙂

Chas, I am with you. Watch what I can and research the rest.

Watched the Georgia Tech/ NC State game. Georgia Tech can put up some points, but I question there D.

Anyone know how bad the Brantley is? Could seriously put a damper on the Gators season

Sticking to my original plan, I have kept all undefeated teams in my rankings. There are only 15 now, so it was easy. Houston, Kansas State and Texas Tech cracked my top 15. Quite a dropoff after GA Tech.

The Alabama D looked other-worldly during their dominant game against Florida.

Also, how do you guys feel about a Heisman poll?

A good thought Drew. Marcus Lattimore was my preseason pick, and I am sticking with him

    Drew – good idea.

I don’t know how to separate Russell Wilson, Andrew Luck, and Robert Griffin III yet, but it all may become academic as the DB from LSU continues to impress – Tyrann?

YYeah, Mathieu or something. He’s been a turnover machine. Id probably put him near the top, along w. The three quarterbacks Pete mentioned and then probably either Trent Richardson, Renard Robinson orJustin Blackmon.

And you can’t really rule out Kyle’s guy, Lattimore. He has rolled up good numbers despite some very spotty quarterbacking. Teams can gear to stop him, but maybe no more now that Spurrier has gone back to the frosh. Let’s see how Lattimore’s numbers change with the QB change. Funny that no one so far has mentioned LaMichael James, co-favorite with Luck in the preseason.
