College World Series in Omaha, starting Saturday:
** Virginia (1) vs Cal (8)
** Texas A&M (5) vs South Carolina (4)
** Florida (2) vs Texas (7)
** Vanderbilt (6) vs North Carolina (3)
The defending champs are South Carolina. Virginia, the #1, seed is coached by former Notre Dame coach Brian O’Connor. SEC has three teams in the Elite 8. Down in here in Texas, we’re either rooting for A&M (Gig ’em!) or the Longhorns (who?). Texas is clearly the most decorated team in the field and one of the most successful programs all time. I believe this may be their 36th appearance in Omaha. I love to watch this event … may be a bucket list trip for me in the coming years.
