ROCHESTER, N.Y. — Relentless offense and stingy pitching resulted in a lopsided victory as the MCC Tribunes defeated Onondaga CC 12-2 at Monroe Community College.

Luis Diaz (Geneva, NY/Geneva) continued his torrid hitting and Shawn Corrigan (Rochester, NY/Rush-Henrietta) silenced the opposing bats to lead the Tribs.

Diaz plated Kevin Johnson (Webster, NY/ Webster-Thomas) as the Tribs put three across in the second to take a commanding 4-0 lead.

A.J. Kehlenbeck led the frame with a base on balls and scored his first of four runs for the game.

Monroe added two more in the third. Cody Mombourquette (Ottawa, ONT/Colonel by St. Matthews) singled and stole two bases before coming home on a dropped third strike. Kehlenbeck earned another walk, stole a base and eventually scored on a wild pitch.

Corrigan hurled five shutout innings. The sophomore struck out seven while walking just one and surrendering three hits.

Cody Petre (Letchworth, NY/Letchworth) worked a scoreless ninth fanning a pair.

Diaz capped the scoring with a solo blast in the eighth to deep left center field. The sophomore went 3-5 with two runs scored and two RBI. He is 10-15 in his last five games.

Kehlenbeck went 1-2 with three walks.

Johnson had a single, three walks and two runs scored.

Bobby Frantz (Webster, NY/Webster-Thomas) went 1-3 with a stolen base and a run scored.

The Tribs swiped eight bases in all.

With the win, MCC improves to 18-7. The Tribs play a pair against GCC at Dwyer Park on Thursday.
