Every time Hubert Davis says: “He can really score the basketball.” … I just want to reach into the TV and yank him from the set. “Score THE BASKETBALL”?? Of course it’s the basketball, you’re not gonna score your sneakers or anything else. So, if you can’t speak correctly Hubert, just shut up. From now on, it’s just “He can really score.” Period. We already know it’s the basketball, you dope. Must be a Carolina guy. 😉
How about the NFL fans that are now suing Jerry and the NFL? First I think Jerry is greedy and I would be angry if my seat suddenly wasn’t there when I got there. But I think the NFL has gone out of its way to try and take care of the people..To now sue for $5 million? Your seats weren’t that good.
Thanks heavens the front court showed up in the second half. The Plumlees were doing their best to get Zeller and Henson All-American votes in the first half.

Yeah, Smitty, there was a local couple here featured on the news, and go figure, one was a Steelers fan, the other a Packer fan. They were pretty cool about the whole thing.
I can see people getting bent out of shape, getting screwed for tickets to the big dance, but what do I know? I was 5 feet away from the game on tee vee, beers were never a problem, and I was home before the game ended.
“…those 400 ticket-holders who weren’t given seats have been given two options by the the league: Either $2,400 (triple the face value of their ticket) and a free, transferable ticket to next year’s Super Bowl, or a free, non-transferable ticket to any future Super Bowl, plus round-trip airfare and hotel accommodations to that game.”
I’d have to say this does a pretty good job of making it up to them, especially considering they still were able to go to this year’s Super Bowl standing room only, right?
I wonder what the definition of transferable is? If they can keep transferring it from year to year until their team is back in the Super Bowl, then that’s pretty cool. There’s a good chance both of those teams are going to return within the next five years.
I also read this, though:
“The lawsuit alleges that Cowboys fans who paid $100,000 per seat just for the right to buy season tickets were never told that their Super Bowl seats would be temporary with obstructed views. The lawsuit says the team has offered no compensation for ‘illegitimate seats’.”
Jerry Jones continues to do all that he can to destroy the NFL. Harking back to a pre-Super Bowl discussion here on the Pine, I have now adjusted my “most-I-would-pay-for-SB-ticket” amount to $5! Heck, you have NOOOO idea what kind of seat you are getting!

Chas, I am guessing “transferable” refers only to the user of the ticket. Next year’s ticket can be used by whoever, but is only good for next year’s game, whereas the non-transferable can be used only by the recipient, but to ANY future game.

What a 2nd half by Duke. The Nolan Smith and Seth Curry show was impressive. It was so loud in Cameron they could barely hear the whistle!

I enjoyed watching UNC’s Kendall Marshall. He has above average full-court vision.
Just read this about the Super Bowl fiasco:

These folks may have a beef.

Pete, oh yeah, I guess I should have known that’s what they meant by transferable. Thanks.
Quote in last week’s SI from Jerry Jones – “We’re thinking of selling more tickets. I know this: However many we print, people will buy.”
DOH!
I’m sure that issue of SI will be Exhibit A.
