Another week and another buffet spread of great performances from which to choose.
I have always enjoyed the sports story that includes a chip-on-the-shoulder theme. Whether it’s an individual or an entire team, it makes no difference.
USF’s B.J. Daniels played Saturday’s game versus Florida State with a chip the size of the sunshine state on his shoulder. Growing up and playing youth / high school football in Tallahassee, Daniels received no recognition from the Seminole staff when it came time for recruiting.
The Seminole staff has to notice Daniels now.
In the first-ever meeting between the intrastate schools, USF went into Tallahassee and came away victorious, 17-7. Daniels rushed for 126 yards and threw for 215 including two touchdowns to lead the Bulls. Playing in place of injured senior, Matt Grothe, Daniels accounted for 343 of USF’s 368 total yards.
The win marked the first-ever victory for USF over any of the big three schools of Florida (Florida St., Miami, Florida).
Who gets your POTW?

What are the odds of Phil Mickelson coming back from 6 shots after the first round and beating Tiger Woods by 3? For the very fact that Phil accomplished that feat he gets my performance of the week. Throw in that his wife and his mother are dealing with breast cancer and he also gets the feel good story of the week. Here’s hoping he found something with that putting stroke and can come back next year and challenge Woods.

JD great choice!! Now where can I get one of the Odyssey White Hot Tour #9 Putters?? No, I don’t follow Lefty’s club choices, what are you talking about?
I would like to nominate…gulp… Brett Farve for performance of the week. Say what you want about the guy – maybe he can no longer put a team on his shoulders and carry them to the Promised Land. Then again, with a running back like Adrian Peterson – the Vikings don’t need he to. But they will need him to pull a game out of the jaws of defeat every now and again. On Sunday he did just that, throwing for over 300 yards and 2 TDs. More important was his ability to buy time and throw a pass only Greg Lewis could catch in the endzone. The Gunslinger still has it.
Also.. I would like to nominate Tylenol Severe Cold and Congestion medicine for the its performance this weekend in helping me rise from the dead. With a cold that completely put me down for the count, Tylenol Severe Cold and Congestion came to the rescue!!
Peace out! Girl Scout!

White Hots? Is Phil’s putter made by Zweigle’s?
