Not often one gets to see a no hitter. Brian Pullyblank grabs my POTW.
22 months removed from Tommy John surgery the Webster Yankee starter put the Niagara Power in lock down. Just two Power batters reached base – an error and a hit by pitch. Neither runner advanced past second.
The start was Pullyblank’s second of the 2009 NYCBL season. Earlier, he tossed five shutout frames versus 2008 NYCBL champ, Brockport.
Beyond Pullyblank’s performance, Friday night’s game was a treat. Niagara starter, Shelby Robertson, held the pinstripes in check for eight and two-thirds. Then Geoff Dornes singled, and Nate Koontz brought him home with a two-out opposite field triple.
Steve Muoio, Shawn Bailey, and Niagara’s Brian Goodwin thrilled the crowd with spectacular defensive play.
Who gets your POTW?

Not 100% sure of the Horse’s name – I believe it was Jazz.. But at the Belmont over the weekend, this horse threw its rider off about 10 yards into the race. The riderless horse then went on to win the race by a good 7 lengths. I don’t believe the win counted, but I think it certainly falls under the humorous side of performances of the week.
