When are the Bulls & Celtics gonna quit doing this to us? You “Easterners” are getting to bed pretty late, huh? I don’t know if I can stomach another barn-burner like Game 6. Wow!! Ray Allen … holy crap!!! Derrick Rose … knock it off!!!! Almost every game’s an “instant classic”. I simply cannot believe how many off-balance, hand in the face, pressure shots are going in. And the Bulls have clearly put it back in my face. What they lack in intelligence (my pet peeve), they pretty much compensate for with heart and grit.
Let’s hope Game 7 lives up to its predecessors. If it does … just a close nail-biter in regulation will do … this series will definitely be remembered as one of the best in history. It’s true that it’s only the first round, which takes away from the argument, but all these OT’s, lead changes, drama and suspense in practically all the games put it back in the discussion. A tight game 7 should keep it there.
I’m obviously rooting for the Bulls, but have no pretense that they’re close to NBA champion caliber. Without Garnett, neither are the Celtics. But I think the winner of this series could make the race for the Eastern crown pretty interesting … assuming they’re not too tired out after this slugfest.
In the West, I think the Rockets have a pretty decent chance at beating the Lakers. I’m not saying they’re favored, but I will not be surprised if they win that series.
