Tuesdays with Smitty: Special Edition

March 9, 2009 by Smitty 16 Comments

062 Back from Toronto, I thought it was a great opportunity to share some of the images Chas, D.J. and I have enjoyed at the World Baseball Classic. So while Chas and D.J.  remain in Toronto for the rest of the tourney,  here are some of the images that we took in at a great event. So enjoy…

Nice job, Smitty. The captions are great. Hopefully this gives everyone an indication of how great it was (is) to be there (here).

Dang Smitty!!!! Was Bob Uecker sitting next to y’all?

Casey – All the props go to D.J. on the seats. It was a fantastic view and both Chas and D.J. are still enjoying them. I completely underestimated how much fun I would have at the games. It was truly an enjoyable event.

The MLB has to really figure out a way to get more of the elite players to play in this event and really sell it to the public. Given some of the crowds in Toronto, Puerto Rico and Japan – it shouldn’t be a problem. Baseball is alive and well.

Smitty cheering for Derek Jeter, and Rey pledging his allegiance to the Blues.

What has the Pine come to?

Someone get me a Sam Adams please.

Yeah – Smitty showing two pictures of Jeter is weirding me out a little bit. Great shots though and excellent seats.

Smitty – your artsy pic has a bit of glare coming off of the dugout. Did you take your hat off for that picture? I couldn’t resist, for old times sake.

  8. Casey says

Smitty – you might want to make an extra copy of that Pedroia pic. I’m sure Rey will want a copy of that one.

You’re right Casey – I need something to put under my 5 week old when changing her diaper.

Grady Sizemore isn’t playing, but could I perhaps get some pics of attractive Venezuelan women?

  11. Casey says

Sizemore not playing? Nice national spirit. 🙂

  12. Rey says

    March 9, 2009 at 9:04 pm

He’s injured. So now you’ve gone to attacking some of my team’s players? This Chelsea thing has really gotten your panties in a bunch, Grizzly Adams.

  13. Casey says

    Injured?

Wah! Wah ! Wah! Is he in the dugout supporting his boys? 🙂

  14. Casey says

Suddenly the status of my under garments are important to you? 🙂

How about the Netherlands beating the Dominican Republic not once, but TWICE. Considered one of the favorites, the Dominican couldn’t field their way to the 2nd round.

Unbelievable.. Congrats to Bert “Be Home” Blyleven and the Netherlands national team.

Losing to the Netherlands in baseball? NOW THAT’S EMBARRASSING. I could see if it was speed skating or ski jumping, but baseball?!?!? Those guys from DR will not be able to show their faces in major league dugouts, let alone in their own country.
