Who am I?

images39If only induction to the Hall in Cooperstown could be earned in one season, because my rookie year was magic. I electrified crowds for a summer and delighted fans with my quirky behavior. When it was all said and done 605,677 people filed through the turnstiles for the home games I started. Overall, 901,239 folks watched my 29 starts. My 250 innings pitched earned me Rookie-of-the-Year honors. I nearly took home the Cy Young, and I even finished 11th in MVP voting despite my team’s fifth place finish. I was the starting pitcher in the All-Star game. I finished that year 19-9 with a 2.34 ERA.
