Mine was a career on the fringe. I never had the chance to drink champagne from Lord Stanley’s Cup. I always found myself playing second fiddle to some hotshot. First there was that guy they referred to as “The Flower”. Then when he was gone ‘The Great One’ took center stage. Soon after came Mario. I guess I should be happy to have received The Lady Bing Award twice. I did actually grab the Art Ross one time, but I never really captured the spotlight. Yet, I did finish in the top ten all-time for assists, goals, and points. For this I did earn a spot in the Hall of Fame.
Who am I?
Stan Mikita
check that:
Bobby Hull
Mikita won the Stanley Cup
Damnit!! I got outside for 1 freakin’ second after a night of hitting refresh…. and poof!
So disappointing.. I am now going to North Carolina.. I fully expect Muels and Pete to keep Chas away from the leaderboard.
Marcel Dionne
Chas – you sneaky devil. I was having a bit of a quandary with two incorrect answers and then Smitty throwing up the white flag. Both Hull and Mikita played on that ’61 Black Hawks squad that won the Cup.
two strikes and I am out?
Hull won the Cup as well…
Props to Chas for stickin’ it out…
As soon as Muels threw the second answer out there, it threw me off..
Putting the answer, then changing it threw me off.. Won’t happen again..
I had only seen the first incorrect answer, then when I submitted mine and saw it was the 4th comment, I figured I was too late. But, I wasn’t. Thank you Smitty. 😉
While I did feel the joy of Christmas morning with “No Comments” staring at me, I made like a 4 year old and unwrapped all the presents without taking the time to see what was inside…
No promises that I won’t do it again, however…
Sorry Smitty for the accidental misdirection…
Muels – it happens.. You play until the whistle is born..
Enjoy the freebie Chas..
The Whistle is blown.. Good Lord…
I need to get to bed..
WOW! I obviously came in too late, and with way too little I fear. I would have had NO idea. Good job all, even the wrong guesses. Thought I might be able to open some ground on Chas, but no such luck.
