Who am I?

October 19, 2008 by Paul Gotham 2 Comments

Editor’s note: some research my be required for this one.
I was born in Pittston, PA and later roamed the gridiron at Georgia. While on the Athens campus I played for Orange, Sugar, and Rose Bowl teams. I won a Maxwell award (for the college football player of the year), and I even batted .464 for the Bulldog baseball team one season. I eventually became the first pick in the NFL draft and completed Charles Bidwill’s ‘million dollar backfield’. During my nine-year career with the Chicago Cardinals I finished in the top ten of each of the following categories at least once – passes completed, passer rating, rushing yards, rushing tds, receiving tds, and all-purpose yards. I played in two Pro Bowls and earned one first team All-Pro nomination. You can find my bust in Canton. Legendary coach, Paul ‘Bear’ Bryant dubbed me the greatest football player he had ever seen.

Wow! Score one for Chas. With that Chas officially clinches the Presidents trophy for season 1. 🙂
