Who am I?

October 2, 2008 by Paul Gotham 3 Comments

I was born in Miami, Florida and signed as an amateur free agent by the Cardinals. In my 24-year career I wore the jerseys of six different teams and played in the National and American League. I won one Gold Glove. I rank in the top ten all time for innings pitched, strikeouts, games started, and batters faced. I finished in the top ten for ERA in eight different seasons. I was the starting pitcher in two all-star games. I played on two teams that won the World Series. I have four Cy Youngs in my trophy case. You can check out my plaque in Cooperstown.

Don’t look now – Wally is making a run. Next thing you know he will enter the site from https://ccww.wordpress.com and make comments that way. 🙂
