Who am I?

September 22, 2008 by Paul Gotham 5 Comments

In my 20 seasons in the ‘Bigs’ I have donned the jersey of three different teams. Twice I have played in the World Series. I have compiled a lifetime batting average of .272 – my high is .333. In the category of singles I have finished in the top ten seven times. Stolen bases you ask? I have finished in the top ten six times. Sacrifice hits is my offensive forte as I have led the league on four different occasions. Defense is my calling card. I have made 4,032 put outs, 7,539 assists, and a mere 183 errors. My trophy case is filled with 11 Gold Gloves(at least one from each league) and a Hutch award. Hall of Fame-like creds?

Isn’t that just freakin’ sweet- do you have a second hand on this to tell me how close I was, assuming we are both right?

Wow! Chas is friggin’ good. Yeah – you are both right…score one for Chas. Better luck next time? Keep on trying? I’m at a loss for any more cliches.

Wow! That was even closer than the one minute Rey beat me by the other day.
