A tough week for the Pinstripes. After splitting pairs with Allegany County and Geneva, Webster looked rather feeble against Brockport and Hornell.
Kyle Weldon (Miami of Ohio) knocked his first dinger in a losing effort against Hornell.
Dustin Ramey (UMass-Lowell) notched his fourth win of the season. The right-hander has struck out 27 in 26 and a third while allowing six walks. Ramey had Tommy John surgery 17 months ago. His work with Webster is his first live action since the operation.
Webster alums: Pat Urckfitz earned his second professional save this week as the Greenville Astros defeated the Burlington Royals 7-6 in Appalachian League action. Pat retired both of the batters he faced.
Bryan Gardner made two appearances for the Gulf Coast Reds this week. He tossed a perfect eighth with one strike out as the GCL Reds lost to the GCL Twins 8-2. Earlier in the week Bryan hurled another perfect eighth with again one K. Gardner now has an ERA of 3.18 in five appearances.
