MONDAY’S GAME
SARATOGA AT WATERTOWN 7:00 PM

Webster showed their mettle enduring a dismal week and finishing with a victory over first-place Hornell.

After rain cut short games against Hornell and Geneva on Tuesday and Wednesday, the Yankees and Geneva managed to finish a game on Thursday. Unfortunately for Webster the end was not they wanted.

Geneva plated five in the fourth thanks to two errors, a walk, and a pass ball. When the dust settled, Geneva topped Webster 9-2.

Friday Webster and Hornell tangled in a double header. The first game was a continuation of Tuesday’s suspended contest. Webster left runners on second and third in the ninth and lost 3-1.

In the second game Adam Curynski went seven and two-thirds but took the loss 3-2.

Saturday the Yankees jumped out to a 5 run lead in the top of the first over Niagara only to see the Power chip away at the lead for 6-5 victory.

With all that behind them the Yankees went to Hornell and came back victorious, 5-2.

Geoff Dornes (RIT) is leading the Yankee attack batting .417.

Pat Urckfitz has been solid out of the pen. In six appearances he has struck out 23 in twelve and two-thirds. The Penfield native has given up two earned runs for an ERA of 1.42.

Full schedule this week: Brockport-Tuesday, Bolivar-Wednesday, Elmira-Thursday and Friday, Niagara- Sunday. You can listen to the games here.
