Webster has suffered from a case of the onesies – three one-run losses – one each to Geneva and Allegany County 5-4, and 4-3 to Brockport. Against Brockport and Geneva the Yanks left a runner in scoring position in the ninth.
Aaron Etchison made good on his at bats when Webster beat Brockport earlier in the week, 8-6. As a red shirt freshman at Ball St., Etchison has been anxiously awaiting some live at bats. The Pendleton, Indiana native ripped a one-out bases-clearing double to spark the come-from-behind victory.
Webster trailed the Riverbats 5-0 after four. After Geoff Dornes (R.I.T.) scored via the bases-loaded walk, ‘Etch’ followed with his rope to right center.
John Kenny (Hofstra) leads the team with nine runs scored this season.
Webster hosts Hornell on Tuesday and Friday, and Geneva on Thursday. All games start at 5pm. You can listen by going here.
