Maddox Stoughton turned in a .507 batting average with three home runs, 33 RBI, and 20 scored runs while also going 4-1 on the mound with a 2.33 ERA as Gananda won the Wayne County league and earned the top-seed in the Section V Class C1 bracket.
As a result of his efforts, Wayne County coaches named the junior second-baseman the league’s Player of the Year.
Stoughton was a part of a Blue Panthers’ squad that had a season that featured a 17-game winning streak and their third sectional title in program history. In the sectional quarterfinals, Stoughton finished 2-for-3 with two scored runs and a three-run home run to spark a nine-run inning that guided Gananda to a win.

Stoughton had two teammates join him on the Wayne County First Team, being Will Schneemann and Henry Shutts. Gananda’s Bill McClare, was selected as the league’s Coach of the Year.
Evan Laird, Parker Orbaker, Gauge Johnson, and Garrett Barron each made the First Team from Sodus. Liam DeHollander and Noah Wollschleger qualified from East Rochester, while David DeFisher and Caiden Watson rounded out the squad from Williamson.
