Constantino Financial Friday Baseball Wrap: Wayne’s Celso goes 4-4 and strikes out seven; Diaz hurls complete game for East

HONEOYE FALLS-LIMA (3-1) 8
PALMAYRA-MACEDON (1-2) 3

Jacob Weber went 3-for-4 with a run and an RBI-single in the sixth inning to extend the lead to four and put the game away for Honeoye Falls-Lima. Nate Meacham finished 2-2 with two runs and three RBI thanks to two singles while Ollie Osterling notched two hits and two runs scored. Cal Grasley had an RBI-double and scored a run while Austin Coyle singled to drive in a run. Brian Finn added a hit and a run while Aidan Kearney tallied a hit. Owen Kearney earned the win on the mound tossing four innings of one-hit ball with six strikeouts, three walks and one run. For Palmyra-Macedon, Trey Porpora led the way with a hit and two runs while Joel Redmond and Ian Ryan collected a hit apiece. Noah Dapolito drove in a run while Camron Quick crossed home plate once.

HAC (0-1) 0
NORTHSTAR CHRISTIAN ACADEMY (3-2) 10

Stone Pagano hurled four innings of no-hit ball with eight strikeouts and three walks while going 2-for-3 with two RBI-singles and a run to pace Northstar Christian Academy. Jeremiah Schwaderer hit a RBI-double and crossed home plate three times while Jay Garwood followed with a hit and two runs. Tysen Deaton singled, driving in a run and scored a run of his own while Charlie Oakden scored a run and drove in two. Oakden also earned the save tossing one scoreless relief inning of no-hit ball with two strikeouts. Miles Tomlinson drove in a run as while Carl Dwyer and Braeden Miller both crossed home plate once.

PADILLA/WOIS (0-1) 0
EAST (5-1) 10

Caleb Diaz threw a complete game of three-hit ball with nine strikeouts while going 2-for-3 with two RBI to lead East. Mitchell Nieves went 3-3 with four runs and two RBI to lead the offense while Justus Robinson ended 2-2 with an RBI and four scores. Kyle Markham finished 1-1 with an RBI and crossed home plate three times while Ahddi Jackson added a hit, two RBI and a run. Jadiel Santiago collected a hit, two runs and a RBI while Eric Jones picked up a hit and a score. Carlos Gaston scored twice and drove in a run while Fabio Albornoz also crossed home plate two times. Luis Sanchez drove in two runs and scored another. For Padilla, Maldonado led the way going 2-2 while Ashton Worth tallied the other hit of the day.

SCHOOL OF THE ARTS (1-3) 6
WAYNE (4-0) 11

Down 5-2 in the bottom of the fourth, Caleb Celso doubled to drive in two runs and contribute to a seven-run inning to give Wayne a lead it kept the rest of the way. Celso finished 4-for-4 with two RBI and two runs to lead the way while hurling 3.2 relief innings of three-hit ball with seven strikeouts, two runs and four walks to earn the win on the mound. Kolby Frechette went 3-4 with a run scored, along with a RBI-triple and RBI-single in the fourth inning while Aidan Twist ended 2-3 with two RBI and two scores. Gehrig Locker tripled, driving in one run and scored another while while Kamden Frechette hit a RBI-single and crossed home plate once. Connor Crawford collected a hit, a run and an RBI as well while Matthew Huber and Lucas Welker added a hit and a run apiece. Jacob Caternolo crossed home plate once. For School of the Arts, James Laver led the way going 2-3 with two RBI and two runs while Henry Hawkinson followed with a hit, a run and an RBI. Paul Stevens posted a hit and two runs while Finn Walsh singled to drive in a run. Bennie Laver collected a hit and a score while Bruce Newton tallied a hit.

MIDLAKES (0-1) 4
SODUS (2-1) 9

Tied 4-4 in the bottom of the sixth, Parker Orbaker tripled, driving in two runs and crossed home plate once to take the lead and ignite a five-run inning for Sodus. Orbaker also earned the win on the mound with seven strikeouts over 5.1 innings of five-hit ball with five runs and two walks. Garrett Barron went 2-for-3 with a two-run single while Carter Salerno added a score, singled and grounded out to drive in two runs. Evan Laird and Brody Crandell each followed with a hit and a run apiece while Wade DeRue scored two runs and drove in another. Gauge Johnson and Cooper Ingersoll each crossed home plate once. For Midlakes, Braxton Wilkes went 3-3 with two RBI and a run to lead the way while Ayden Klapp finished 2-3 with two runs and an RBI. Trey Martin collected a hit and a run while Noah Bremer crossed home plate once.

NAPLES (1-0) 9
CAMPBELL-SAVONA (0-1) 4

Ollie Bruen notched two hits and two runs while James Haremza followed with a hit, crossed home plate twice and drove in two runs to lead Naples. Wilhelm Schmitt collected a hit, a run and an RBI while Rowan Biggs added a hit and two scores. Ryan Worboys tallied a hit while Theron VanZandt and Chase Bauman both crossed home plate once. Bauman also notched the win on the mound, hurling three innings of four-hit ball with three strikeouts, two runs and four walks. For Campbell-Savona, Zane Folckemer led the way with three RBI and a two-run single while Liam Maddock collected a hit and two runs. Gabe Roton, John Wood and Brennan Buman all tallied a hit apiece while Ethan Loveless scored twice.

SOUTH SENECA/ROMULUS (1-0) 14
LYONS (0-4) 4

Bryce Racono went 3-for-3 with three RBI and three runs while Ethan King finished 3-4 and crossed home plate three times to pace South Seneca. Racono hit three RBI-singles including one in a four-run first inning as the Falcons jumped out to a 4-0 lead they did not relinquish. The junior also earned the win on the mound, tossing 3.1 innings of two-hit ball with two strikeouts, two runs and four walks. Maddox Sapio followed with a double and a single for two RBI and crossed scored four runs while Brady Neville singled, driving in a run and scored twice. Kyan Miller-Hopkins and Liam Wolverton both collected a hit and an RBI while Roman Nearpass added a hit and two RBI. Thomas Horn and Eli Albrecht both crossed home plate once. For Lyons, Jacob Bookmiller led the way with a hit and two RBI while John Bullock and Stephen LeBrecht followed with a hit and an RBI apiece. Cole Burnett collected a hit and a run while Brayden Kitchen, Mason Gage and Brady Bastian all scored a run each.

CLYDE-SAVANNAH (2-1) 15
WATERLOO (1-1) 7 (F/6)

Jace Paylor struck out two over four innings to pick up the win and went 1-for-2 with an RBI to lead Clyde-Savannah. Spencer Bloomer was 3-4 with three RBI while Jayce Cornwell drove in three as part of a 2-4 effort. Derek Cole and Isaac Bloomer drove in two apiece. Jackson Barr and Vinny Nicoletta each had an RBI. Triston Nicoletta fanned three over two innings of relief work. Waterloo’s Ryder Tam went 2-4 with a triple and four RBI. Kellen Mahoney was 2-4 with a double and three runs scored.

GANANDA (1-1) 2
BLOOMFIELD (1-0) 3

Down 1-0 in the bottom of the third, Kyle Dredger tripled, driving in two runs to give Bloomfield the lead and in the bottom of the fifth with the scored tied 2-2, Grady Rogers capitalized on a passed ball to steal home for the eventual game-winning run. Dredger led the offense going 2-for-3 with two RBI while Gunner Vogel also went 2-3 with a run scored. Macoy Rogers notched two hits while Grady Rogers finished with a hit and crossed home plate twice. Levi Gumaer and Joey Walsh both tallied a hit apiece. Walsh also earned the win on the mound tossing five innings of three-hit ball with five strikeouts, two runs and five walks while Kyle Schmitt picked up the save hurling two scoreless relief innings of one-hit ball with one walk. For Gananda, Henry Shutts ended 2-2 with two runs to lead the way while Mason Mangers collected a hit and an RBI. Anthony D’Agostino also recorded a hit.

MOREHEAD (NC) 7
HAVERLING (2-3) 5

Mason Davis led the way with two hits including a RBI-single and two runs while Dayton Orlowske followed going 2-for-3 with a score and a RBI-single for Haverling. Dante Nealey singled, driving in a run and drove in another with a ground out while Gage Thomas added a hit and a score. Parker Lafler and Elias Shamsidden both tallied a hit apiece while Eric Carney-Hendrix crossed home plate once.

WELLSVILLE (3-2) 11
ROCKY RIVER (OH) 13

Tyler Rahr went 3-for-4 with two RBI and Ben Helveston was 2-for-2 with two doubles, three RBI and two runs to lead Wellsville. Matt Ritter had two hits and a run for the Lions. On the mound, Ritter threw three innings of no-hit ball with a strikeout to stop the Rocky River (6-0) offense. Drew Cowburn (run) and Trenton Green (RBI, run) each had two hits while Karter Grover had a hit, Brennen Geffers and Huddy Hoffman scored two runs apiece while Cam Mattison and Anthony Button both crossed home. Wellsville trailed 13-0 after four innings of play.

“Despite the heat and the score against a great team, we used the motto, ‘There’s no clock in baseball,'” Wellsville head coach John Anderson said via email. “They stayed loud and positive and the hits and runs started coming. To keep them off the scoreboard to make a comeback, Trent Green, Huddy Hoffman and Karter Grover made some outstanding defensive plays. We are not only pleased with the results of this tournament but the support we received from the Wellsville administration to take the trip and the support of our community to make it happen. Another bonus was watching our softball team as they went 3-0 on their southern trip.”

CENTRAL VALLEY (WA) 2
LIVONIA (4-1) 7

Seth Eadie hurled seven innings of five-hit ball with five strikeouts and two runs while notching two hits and a run to lead Livonia. Harper Rowe led the offense going 2-for-3 with two RBI and a score thanks to a two-run triple in the sixth inning to extend Livonia’s lead to five and put the game away. Grant Francis hit a single and a sacrifice fly for two RBI while Jack Henry collected two hits and a run. Oliver Taylor posted two hits including an RBI-single while Carter Richardson and Kaidan O’Connor both added two hits apiece. Carson Beardsley followed with a hit and a run while Jacob Benitez crossed home plate three times.
