Two teams will enter this weekend looking to win its second straight sectional title. No. 2 seed Honeoye won the Class C3 title a year ago and enters the matchup having taken 13 straight decisions, currently. York, the No. 8 seed, is the defending Class C2 champion and has eight wins in its past nine games. Finger Lakes West meets Livingston County in the Class C2 title game on Saturday. Here’s the breakdown:

How they arrived here: Honeoye rolled 68-20 over No. 15 seed Arkport-Canaseraga in the first round before picking up an 80-46 win over No. 7 Perry in the quarterfinals. In the semifinals, the Bulldogs won 60-53 over No. 6 Notre Dame Batavia. York got past No. 9 seed Keshequa 64-56 in the opening round before taking down top-seeded Northstar Christian on the road to clinch a spot in the semifinals. A 68-44 win over No. 5 seed Cuba-Rushford secured a championship berth for the Golden Knights.

Scoring offense: Honeoye (69.9 PPG) York (72.4 PPG)

Scoring defense: Honeoye (47.7 PPG) York (58.9 PPG)

Trends: Honeoye has won 13 straight games, and had a 12-game streak of double-digit wins before the semifinals. York has been the victor in eight of its past nine games.

Players to watch for Honeoye: Landon Washburn Jr. (33 PPG, 10 RPG, 5 APG, 5 SPG), Dylan Washburn Jr. (13 PPG, 8 RPG, 3 APG, 2 SPG), Braiden Schneider Jr. (12 PPG, 4 RPG, 2 APG, 2 SPG), Kyle Schmitt So. (8 PPG, 6 RPG, 2 APG, 2 SPG), Eli Stumbo Jr. (4 PPG, 5 RPG, 1 APG, 1 SPG)

Players to watch for York: Parker Bonefede Sr. (22 PPG, 8 RPG, 3 APG, 1 SPG), Yerel Diaz-Pena Jr. (14 PPG, 4 RPG, 3 SPG, 2 APG), Brody Pangrazio Jr. (9 PPG, 5 RPG, 2 SPG, 1 APG), Zach Bauer Jr. (9 PPG, 3 RPG, 3 APG, 2 SPG), Mason Parsons Sr. (7 PPG, 4 RPG, 1 APG, 1 SPG), Ryan Brady Sr. (6 PPG, 4 RPG, 2 APG, 1 SPG)

History 101: The two met back in early December, with Honeoye winning 68-53. Honeoye took home the Class C3 title in 2025, and York was the winner that year in Class C2. They played in the 2025 Class C Far West Regional qualifier, with the Bulldogs picking up a 52-42 win. A win Saturday would give Honeoye its ninth sectional title in its 16th finals appearance in program history. It would be the fifth title for York, and the third since 2022.

What’s at stake: A spot in the NYS Class C Far West Regional Qualifier against the Class C1 winner, either Lyons or Geneseo.
