What they’re saying: “I’m excited. They (Schroeder) are a very good team. They’ve got excellent coaches. They’ll be ready for us, and we’ll be ready for them. I’m just excited to keep coaching theses kids. It’s truly been a special group, a remarkable group. You know a lot of times, you’re tired at the end of the year? I wish the season started tomorrow. It’s the highlight of my day being with them. I wasn’t sure I was coming back this year, and I’m glad I did because they’re a gift. They truly are.” (Penfield coach Mark Vogt)
“Coach (Kevin) Willmott and I have been to the sectional finals four out of the five years that we’ve coached. We’ve won it one time. Just to get there is so special and so hard to do. It’s about these girls. I’m so happy for them to have the opportunity to write this story and finish this story how it should be.” (Webster Schroeder coach Codi Mrozek)
What’s at stake: A spot in the Class AA Far West Regional qualifier against the winner of Pittsford Sutherland and Canandaigua.
