Jack Leasure Shooting and Skills Camp Sectional Preview: Boys’ Class D

The 2026 Section V Class D Boys’ Basketball bracket features all four teams from Allegany County Division II, three from Steuben County, two from Genesee Region II and one each from Livingston County III and Section V Independent. First round action tips off on Wednesday, Feb. 24 with six teams fighting for a spot in the quarterfinals. The Class D final will be held at Blue Cross Arena on March 6.

After falling in the semifinals of the Class D playoffs to Jasper-Troupsburg last year, Andover-Whitesville enters the postseason this year as the top seed with an 18-2 record. The Panthers have won seven of their last eight games coming into the tournament. Two-seed Elba is looking for its first sectional championship since 2017, coming into the tournament winning eight of its last 10 games.

Three-seed Jasper-Troupsburg is looking for its first sectional championship since 1998. Four-seed Mount Morris looks to return to Class D glory as the 2023 Class D2 champions are back in Class D after a brief stint in Class C3 in 2024 and 2025. The Blue Devils enter the tournament winning four of their last five games. Here’s the breakdown:

No. 10 Houghton (5-14) @ No. 7 Avoca-Prattsburgh (7-13)

No. 9 Lyndonville (5-15) @ No. 8 Hinsdale (7-13)

Winner of Lyndonville/Hinsdale @ No. 1 Andover-Whitesville (18-2)

Winner of Houghton/Avoca-Prattsburgh @ No. 2 Elba (15-5)

Winner of Lima Christian/Hammondsport @ No. 3 Jasper-Troupsburg (13-7)

No. 5 Friendship-Scio (9-11) @ No. 4 Mount Morris (11-9)
