Elba and Fillmore faced off in the Section V Girls’ Basketball Class D Final in 2025; since then, Fillmore has been reclassified into Class C2 while Elba remains in Class D as the 14-6 fifth seed. The 2026 Section V Class D Girls’ Basketball bracket features nine teams with 10 or more wins, the second most of any classification. First-round matchups begin on Wednesday, February 25, at 6 p.m.

Last year, Avoca-Prattsburgh was eliminated in the quarterfinals. The Titans enter the postseason with a 17-3 record, a six-game improvement from the Titans’ 11-10 record in 2025. A-P won eight of its last nine games to end the regular season.

C.G. Finney takes Fillmore’s spot as the two seed with a 15-5 record after reaching the semi-finals as the three seed in 2025. The Falcons would lose that game to the Eagles by a score of 48-36. Finney ended the regular season on a 7-2 stretch with a point differential of +164 and winning those games by at least 13 points.

The third seed belongs to Notre Dame-Batavia, who had a 15-5 record and ended the season on a three-game win streak all against Class D teams. In 2025, as the four seed, the Lady Irish advanced to the semi-finals before being eliminated by Elba 52-36. Jasper-Troupsburg ended the season winning eight of nine games to take the four seed with a 16-4 record. Right now, the Elba Lancers are competing for their third straight Class D Championship.
