Jack Leasure Shooting and Skills Camp Sectional Preview: Boys’ Class AA1

Eleven teams make up the Class AA1 sectional playoffs in 2026. The bracket features four teams from Monroe County Division I, five squads from Monroe County Division II and rounding out the field are two representatives of the Private-Parochial League. First round action tips off on Wednesday, Feb. 25 with the final two squads set to face off at Blue Cross Arena on Friday, March 7.

NYSSWA Class AA No. 1 Penfield rolls into the postseason on a 12-game win streak all by double-figures. The reigning champs of Class AA1 finished the regular season with an 18-1 record as their only loss came at the hands of NYSSWA Class AAA No. 10 Fairport 79-62 back on Jan. 9. When the two squads met again on Feb. 13, the Patriots earned a 22-point victory over the Red Raiders. Fifteen of the 18 Penfield victories this season have come by 10 or more points including six by 30-plus. Irondequoit enters the postseason as the second seed with a 15-5 record. The Eagles are coming off back-to-back victories by a combined six points and are undefeated (4-0) in one possession games this season. Irondequoit earned four wins by double-digits this season and look to get a sour taste of of its mouth after falling in the semifinals 77-55 to Penfield in 2025.

Victor heads into the postseason with two victories in the last three outings and a 13-7 record. The Blue Devils garnered four wins this season by 30 or more points and eight on the season by double-figures. Victor looks to bounce back in 2026 after losing to Irondequoit in the quarter finals last year 89-86. Churchville-Chili and Brighton take spots four and five with 10-10 records after both squads fell in the quarterfinals in 2025. Churchville-Chili cruises into the playoffs with three double-digit victories in the last four outings. On the season, the Saints have six wins by 10 or more points and are 2-0 in games decided by three points or less. Brighton moves into the postseason with back-to-back victories and have earned four wins this season by double-digits. Class AA1 finalists Webster Thomas enters as the sixth seed with a 9-11 record.
