The Class A 2026 Sectional playoff field consists of 13 teams. The bracket includes four squads apiece out of the Finger Lakes East Region and Monroe County Division IV, three teams from the Rochester City Atlantic Conference and two representatives of the Private-Parochial league round out the field. First round action tips off on Tuesday, Feb. 24 with the Class A Final set for Saturday, March 7 at Blue Cross Arena.

East, NYSSWA Class A No. 8, heads the field with a 13-4 record and looks to avenge a 61-55 sectional final loss in 2025. The Eagles roll into the postseason on a seven-game win streak with three of those victories coming by 25 or more points. On the season, East has eight victories by double-figures and are undefeated (3-0) in games decided by one possession. NYSSWA Class A No. 22 Geneva enters the playoffs as the second seed with an 18-2 record. The Panthers cruise into the postseason on a five-game win streak and victors in 11 of their last 12. 14 of the 18 victories for Geneva this season have came by double-digits including seven by 20 or more points and four by 30-plus. The Panthers are also 4-0 in games decided by five points or less with one of its biggest coming against NYSSWA Class C No. 5 Lyons 67-65 on Dec. 29. Geneva looks to bounce back after a 46-39 loss in the semifinals to the reigning champs of Class A.

Wayne, NYSSWA Class A No. 21, moves into the postseason as the defending champions with a 17-3 record for the third seed. The Eagles fly into the playoffs on a 14-game win streak with 11 coming by 10 or more points. During the win streak Wayne also grabbed a 54-47 victory over No. 2 Geneva on Jan. 30. This season the Eagles have 14 victories by double-digits including six by 30-plus points. Monroe makes its way into the playoffs as the four seed with a 13-5 record and seven victories in the last eight outings. Six of the Red Jackets eight wins by double-figures came in that stretch. Monroe made the move to Class A this year after falling in the 2025 Class AA2 semifinals 68-46 to Canandaigua. Batavia and Newark go into postseason play with 13-7 records. Batavia enters with four victories in the last five outings as the Blue Devils look to get a sour taste out of their mouth after falling to East in the semifinals in 2025 64-46. Newark rolls into the playoffs on a three-game win streak all by 26 or more points. On the season the Reds have nine victories by double-digits and are looking to make a deep run after falling in the quarterfinals 66-53 to Wayne. Here’s the breakdown:
