Weekend Section V Hockey Wrap: Triantafilou earns shutout for Greece Storm; Reeves collects for first shutout for Irondequoit

FRIDAY’S GAMES

BRIGHTON/HFL/EASTRIDGE/GANANDA (2-13-1) 0
GREECE STORM (4-12-1) 4
Stratos Triantafilou stopped all 36 shots he faced to help the Greece Storm end its eight game winless streak. Chase Benham led the Storm’s offense with two goals including one that came short handed and two assists. Wyatt Pilgrim also scored a short handed marker and collected a helper. Gaborik Monks also found the back of the net in the contest. Trey Atseff and Trever Griffin each registered an assist in the contest.

IRONDEQUOIT (9-5-2) 8
CANANDAIGUA (4-12-1) 0
Dylan Carey’s four-point performance helped Irondequoit win back-to-back contests. Carey found the back of the net twice and tallied two assists. Douglas Velepec scored twice including once on the power play and recorded a helper. Alex McLaughlin scored and registered two assists. Landon Bryan tallied a power play goal and a helper for the Eagles. Hunter Weisbeck and Ryan Adams also found the back of the net during the contest. Levi Powell recorded two assists while Matthew Parsons, T.J. Mayer, Spencer Roberts, Porter Roberts, and Jack Springer all collected one of their own. Joel Reeves stopped all 19 shots he faced for his first career varsity shutout.

Cole Hudson stopped all 15 shots he faced to help Webster Schroeder stay undefeated. The first two period saw no scoring. Nick Johnson broke the scoreless tie in the third period with an assist Cody Preston. Nicholas Scott added an unassisted empty net goal to seal the victory for the Warriors.

LA SALLE INSTITUTE (2) 3

Andrew Guntrum, Nathan Meisenzahl, Nick Maslowski, and AJ Parker all found the back of the net for Spartan Hockey. Blake Goldberg made  20 saves between the pipes.

PITTSFORD (14-1-1) 4
Pittsford earned its fourth straight shutout victory to extend its winning streak to seven contests. Charles Hezel, Bear Wehrheim, and Evan Weiner all collected a goal and an assist in the contest. David Pollard also found the back of the net for the Panthers. Casey Reagan and Ryan Schmalstich each registered a helper.
