Wednesday Girls’ Basketball Wrap: Bell records double-double to pace Lyons; Clyde-Savannah’s Carnevale drains five 3-pointers, scores 26 to remain undefeated in January

Darianna Weathers recorded eight of her game-high 21 points in the first quarter as East outscored Wilson/Early 24-3 through the first eight minutes. The sophomore connected on 10 shots within the arc and went 1-for-2 at the free throw line. Semaj Jackson also pitched in double-digits with 12 points. Journe Caliz recorded nine points. Alani Montgomery scored all five of her points in the first quarter. Layla Germany and Madison Simmons both ended with four points. Imani Bowen (2) and Aniyah Rapley (1) also scored for the Lady Eagles. Romani Thomas paced Wilson/Early with eight points. Kimora Karesa Hampton followed with five points. Daniela Cantero added four points. Bra’asia Lucas (3), Mar’Shay Taylor (3), Beya Bounasri (3) and Mikaile Mixon (2) also scored for the Wildcats.

Lucy Broome accounted for 11 of her 17 points in the first eight minutes of play as Charles G Finney outscored Rochester Prep 25-0. Broome also recorded 11 rebounds for a double-double, six assists, and four steals on defense. Lainey Vargas knocked down three 3-pointers and finished the game with 16 points, six rebounds and three assists. Kiley Knittle also nailed three triples, ending the game with 15 points, eight rebounds, five assists and a team-high five steals. Kate Frederickson (4) and Sydnei Davis (2) also scored for Finney. Saniyah Yeomas led Rochester Prep with six points. Mariyah Darren-Walker (5), Miah Clevland (2) and Azari Sutton (1) also scored for Rochester Prep.

Karina Natale paced Newark with 17 points and five assists to help the Reds rebound from a loss. Arizona Chapple followed with a 16-point, 10-rebound double-double alongside four blocks on defense. Martianna Chance recorded 10 points. Khloe Paul dropped nine points. Sophia Delfs (6), Adrianna Smith (5) and Melaniyah Howard (2) also scored for Newark.

Ja’Niyah Bell recorded 14 of her game-high 21 points in the first half to help Lyons establish a 36-22 lead. The freshman connected on seven shots and finished 7-for-12 at the free throw line. Bell also added 12 rebounds for a double-double, seven steals, six blocks and four assists. Kamryn Bonnell followed with 18 points, three rebounds, three assists and one steal. Car’Mella Parker dropped 17 points and added five rebounds, three assists and two steals. Ava Harris (5), Kalani Davis (2) and Shacoya Wilcher (2) also scored for Lyons. Alexandria LaBounty and Sloan Sowinski both paced East Rochester with 12 points. Elizabeth Grbic scored seven points. Madalynn Fioravanti (2), Mia Rountree (2) and Deandra Lamont (2) rounded out the scoring for East Rochester.

Taylor Carnevale recorded a game-high 26 points which included five 3-pointers to remain undefeated in the month of January. Carnevale also added five assists, four rebounds and four steals. Larissa Walters followed with 17 points, eight steals, six rebounds and one block. Alexis Tohafjian recorded a 16-point, 12-rebound double-double with three assists. Sophia Marriott dropped 14 points, five rebounds, three assists and two steals. Katie Cronin accounted for eight points and four rebounds while Taylor Record added seven points and seven rebounds. Bella Smart contributed two points, nine assists, six rebounds and four steals.

Leah Buffan dropped seven of her 11 points in the third quarter as Gananda gained a 39-31 lead it would not relinquish. Buffan connected on three 3-pointers and ended 2-for-4 at the charity stripe. Sam Dohse and Avery Hoffmann both followed with eight points apiece. Emily Buffan recorded all six of her points in the third quarter. Allissa Dohse connected on two threes. Jordyn Brice and Reagan Quigley rounded out the scoring for Gananda with five points each. Taylor Bailey paced Red Creek with a game-high 13 points. Jayda Brown followed with 11 points. Kendra Waterman ended with seven points. Ryleigh Holliday (5), Madison Leszczynski (2) and Mckenzie Allen (2) also scored for the Rams.

Samantha O’Connor led Dansville with 20 points, eight rebounds, four steals and one assists to help the Mustangs remain undefeated at home. Taylor Hamsher followed with a 16-point, 12-rebound double-double alongside seven assists and four steals. Colleen Metcalfe ended with seven points, three rebounds, three steals and two assists while Morgan Ball added six points, six rebounds, two steals and one assist. Allison O’Connor rounded out the scoring with five points to pair with four rebounds. Bailey Caton paced Le Roy with 11 points which included three triples.

Annika Milillo topped Letchworth with a game-high 16 points to pair with three steals to lead Letchworth to its sixth straight victory. Sasha Bellamy dropped nine points and grabbed three steals. Charity Scott and Gillian Kemp both added seven points. Scott also added four steals. McKenna Krist scored five points. Kendall Jines (2), Maya Bellamy (2) and Lilly DeRock (1) also scored for Letchworth. Natalie Williams led Haverling with seven points. Taylor Havens added four points while Aleah Binkowksi added two.

Olivia Amorese topped Caledonia-Mumford with 22 points and 10 rebounds for a double-double alongside six steals on defense. Shea Drazkowski contributed six points, six rebounds and four steals. Ava McArdle also added six points. Leigh Nickerson ended with five points, eight rebounds and six blocks. Kennedy Williams scored four points and added three steals.

Maria Geary paced Avon with a game-high 13 points and 16 rebounds for a double-double to help the River Hawks back into the win column. Geary also contributed five steals. Avery Boor also recorded a double-double, scoring 10 points and grabbing 14 rebounds. Boor also added two assists and two blocks.

Sofia Falleti recorded 18 points, eight rebounds and two blocks to lead Notre Dame Batavia to its sixth straight victory. Shirley Thompson ended with 12 points alongside nine steals and four blocks defensively. Quinn Boardman scored nine points and grabbed five rebounds. Gianna Falleti added five points and three steals while PennyJo Thompson added three points and three rebounds. Clairissa Milliman accounted for two points, seven assists and four steals.
