Mid-week Section V Hockey Wrap: Stauffer records first varsity shutout for Pittsford; DiCataldo scores hat trick for Penfield

MONDAY’S GAME

CHURCHVILLE-CHILI (2-11-0) 2
PENFIELD (3-5-1) 4
Nick DiCataldo, McAllister King, and Owen Harris all collected two points to help Penfield to its third straight win. DiCataldo and King tallied two assists while Harris scored a goal and recorded a helper. Owen Yudichak and Cade Welsher both scored their first varsity goal for the Patriots. Wesley Maksymiu also found the back of the net during the contest. Carson Schubmehl, Nathan Quonce, and George Marron all chipped in an assist. Anthony Indiano and Jace Barton found the back of the net for Churchville-Chili. Barton’s goal was his first at the varsity level and on the power play. Grayson Galliford, Blake Lendway, and Nick Carpenter all recorded an assist for the Saints. Lendway and Carpenter’s helpers were their first varsity points.

TUESDAY’S GAMES

CHURCHVILLE-CHILI (2-12-0) 0
WEBSTER SCHROEDER (12-0-0) 8
Cole Hudson and Adam Griffin combined for a 15-save shutout to keep Webster Schroeder’s undefeated campaign going. Nicholas Scott led the Warriors’ scoring effort with two tallies. Connor Scott scored a power play goal and recorded two assists. Bryce Becker scored his first varsity goal while also chipping in an assist. Johnny May, Anthony Pusateri, Noah Spakoski, and Van Bolten all also found the back of the net for the Warriors. Bolten’s goal was his first at the varsity level. Nick Johnson and Aiden Spakoski both recorded three helpers. Tyler Splain, Rick Rinaldi, Cody Preston, and Blake Smith each collected an assist of their own.

Aiden Stauffer stopped all 11 shots he faced for his first varsity shutout to help Pittsford win its fourth straight contest. David Pollard led the offense with a two-goal effort. Evan Weiner and Charles Hezel both scored a goal and tallied an assist for the Panthers. Max Erskine scored a power play goal in the contest. Peter Yarovinsky and Kelan Ahern both recorded two assists. Ryan Schmalstich and Bear Wehrheim each collected a helper of their own.

PENFIELD (4-5-1) 10
BRIGHTON/HFL/EASTRIDGE/GANANDA (2-10-1) 0
Nick DiCataldo led the Penfield offense with a four-point performance to help them win win their fourth straight contest. DiCataldo scored a hat trick and tallied an assist. Wesley Maksymiu found the back of the net twice while collected a helper. Corbin Miller and George Marron each had a goal and two assists for the Patriots. Owen Harris and Jace Wilkins each had a goal and a helper. Wilkins goal came on the power play. Connor Anson also scored in the contest for Penfield. James Carpenter, McAllister King, and Nathan Quonce all registered an assist. Delaney Rivero and Emmett Muroski combined for a 11-save shutout.

CANANDAIGUA (4-8-1) 2
VICTOR (8-4-0) 5
Oliver Kowal’s three-point effort helped Victor win back-to-back contests. Kowal scored a power play goal and two assists for Blue Devils. Eli Weingart found the back of the net twice. Jack Abbott scored a goal and tallied a helper for Victor. AJ Bielecki also scored in the contest. Brennen Paskins registered two helpers. Gavin Nemitz led the Canandaigua offense with a two-goal performance. One of his tallies came with the man-advantage. Teron Bacon, Dominic Holmes, and Arthur Fuller tallied an assist for the Gray Wolves.

FAIRPORT (6-5-1) 8
PORTSIDE ROYALS (4-8-2) 3
Grant Ralston’s four-point performance helper Fairport win its third straight contest. Ralston found the back of the net twice and recorded two assists. Jack Gosiewski and Carter Mitchell both had a goal and two assists for the Red Raiders. Marc Hillier, Lucas Andreatta, and Corey Rene all had a goal and a helper. Garrett Martin also scored in the contest. Colin Shufelt recorded two assists while Jake Rene and Jack Finger collected one of their own. Finger’s helper was his first varsity point. Kyle LaForce led the Portside Royal offense with a goal and an assist. Andrew Lamberton and Zachary Haines also found the back of the net for the Royals. Blake Bagley, Samuel Schultz, and Wyatt Pentz all collected a helper in the contest.

WEDNESDAY’S GAME

IRONDEQUOIT (7-4-2) 4
WEBSTER THOMAS (4-6-1) 1
Landon Bryan led the Irondequoit offense with a four-point performance to help them bounce-back from a defeat in their last contest. Bryan found the back of the net twice while recording two assists. Jack Springer scored his first varsity goal and collected two helpers. Alex McLaughlin scored a power play goal for the Eagles in the contest. Ryan Adams registered two assists while Levi Powell and Matthew Parsons recorded one of their own. Cam Hall scored the lone goal for Webster Thomas with assists from Aiden Paul and Nic Crescimanni.

THURSDAY’S GAMES

BRIGHTON/HFL/EASTRIDGE/GANANDA (2-11-1) 0
PITTSFORD (12-1-1) 9
David Pollard’s five-point performance helped Pittsford win its fifth straight contest. Pollard scored and tallied four assists in the contest. Ben Zombek and Max Erskine both scored a goal and recorded two helpers. Erskine goal came a man short while Zombek’s tally was his first at the varsity level. Anderson McHarg also scored his first varsity goal on the power play while tallying an assist as well. Simon George finished with two goals for the Panthers. Ryan Schmalstich, Peter Munzinger, and Evan Weiner also found the back of the net in the contest. Luke Albano and Casey Reagan both registered two helpers. Drew Weisbeck, Peter Yarovinsky, Steffen Finke, and Adam Pollard all collected an assist. Aiden Stauffer recorded his second straight shutout by stopping all 15 shots he faced.
