Mid-week Section V Hockey Wrap: Four Portside Royals tally first varsity goal; Smith registers five points for Hilton

TUESDAY’S GAMES

VICTOR (7-4-0) 7
IRONDEQUOIT (6-4-2) 3
Oliver Kowal, Jack Abbott, and Samuel Streb‘s three-point performances helped Victor bounce back from a defeat in their last contest. Abbott found the back of the net twice and recorded an assist while Kowal and Streb both collected three helpers. Joey Hellinger, AJ Finocchario, and Eli Weingart all tallied a goal and an assist. Weingart’s goal came on the power play while Finocchario’s goal came a man short. Collin Schoeneman and Brennen Paskins also found the back of the net for the Blue Devils. Paskins goal came with the man-advantage. AJ Bielecki and Elliot Spindler both collected an assist for Victor. Landon Bryan led the Irondequoit offense charge with a two goal effort. One of Bryan’s tallies came on the power play.Henry Velepec scored the other goal for the Eagles. Douglas Velepec, Matthew Parsons, Alex McLaughlin, T.J Mayer, and Ryan Adams all recorded a helper in the contest.

BATAVIA NOTRE DAME (4-9-0) 1
WFL PANTHERS (9-3-0) 3
Ryan Allen led the WFL offense with a two-point performance to help the Panthers end their two-game losing streak. Allen scored and recorded an assist in the contest. Liam Kivimaki and Gavin Guenot also found the back of the net for the Panthers. Guenot’s goal was his first at the varsity level. Graham Mauchly, Fischer Sleeman, Sean Allen, and Blake Hollister all chipped in a helper. Preston Viele scored the lone goal for Batavia Notre Dame unassisted.

PORTSIDE ROYALS (4-7-2) 11
Wyatt Pentz led Portside offense with a four-point performance to help the Royals win two of its last three contest. Pentz tallied a hat trick and collected an assist. Sean Richards and Anthony Ferris found the back of the net twice. Richards’s tallies were his first two varsity goals. Tanner Brado, Blake Bagley, and Jackson Gilbert all recoded their varsity goals as well. Gilbert chipped in an assist as well. Luke LaForce collected a goal and an assist for the Royals. Cole Laffin registered two assists while Samuel Schultz, Andrew Lamberton, Spencer Reome, and Lucas Beeman all chipped in a helper of their own. Reome and Beeman recorded their first varsity point with their assist.

CHURCHVILLE-CHILI (2-10-0) 2
HILTON (6-5-1) 7
Parker Smith’s five-point performance guided Hilton to back-to-back victories. Smith found the back of the net twice including a power play tally and recorded three assists. Lucas Grizzanti and Jayden Teetsel both scored twice and tallied two assists. Matthew Sidoti tallied two points with a goal and an assist. Jack Palmer, Mason Knight, and Hunter Hutteman all collected a helper in the contest. Samuel Coccia and Evan Girolamo found the back of the net for Churchville-Chili. Coccia’s tally was his first at the varsity level. Anthony Indiano and Jace Barton each had an assist for the Saints.

MCQUAID (4-4-1) 6
Eoghan Maier led the McQuaid offense with a four-point performance to help the Jesuit Knights win their fourth straight contest. Maier tallied a hat trick that included a penalty shot goal and recorded an assist. Jayce Rodger, Noah Bernard, and Matthew Napieralski all found the back of the net for the Black Knights. Jon Bottoni registered two helpers while James MacKenzie and Geno Insalaco collected on their own. Tyler Muir, Bryce Miller, and Louie Ferrari all found the back of the net for Aquinas. Ryan Carmody collected two assists while Jonathan Blankenburg, Anthony Conte, and Caleb Wood all registered one of their own.

GREECE STORM (3-9-1) 6
FAIRPORT (4-4-1) 7
Lucas Andreatta and Corey Rene’s two-goal performances helped Fairport bounce back from a loss in their last contest. One Andreatta’s goals came on the power play. Jack Gosiewski tallied two points with a goal and an assist. Liam O’Donnell and Carter Mitchell also found the back of the net for the Red Raiders. Jameson Pierandri, Marc Hillier, Thomas Pane, and Garrett Martin all collected a helper in the contest. James Wattie led the Greece Storm offense with two goals and two assists. Gaborik Monks scored and tallied two assists. Brandon Delaney, Chase Benham, and Alex Rink also scored for the Storm. Rink’s goal came with the man-advantage. Nathan Bach recorded two assists while Wyatt Pilgrim collected one of his own.

WEDNESDAY’S GAME

WEBSTER SCHROEDER (10-0-0) 8
WEBSTER THOMAS (4-5-1) 3
Nicholas Scott’s four-point performance helped Webster Schroeder stay undefeated. Scott tallied a hat trick that included a power play goal and recorded an assist. Nick Johnson, Aiden Spakoski, and Niko Schouten all scored a goal and registered an assist. Tyler Splain and Colin Greene also found the back of the net for the Warriors. Greene’s goal was his first at the varsity level. Anthony Pusateri registered three assists while Connor Scott collected two of his own. Rick Rinaldi, Cody Preston, Bryce Becker, Van Bolten, and Blake Smith all recorded a helper in the contest. Cam Hall led the Webster Thomas offense with a goal and an assist. Aiden Paul scored a power play goal for the Titans. Jackson Bernier also found the back of the net in the contest. Nathan Scheirer collected a helper for Webster Thomas.
