Weekend Section V Hockey Wrap: Velepec tallies hat trick for Irondequoit; Holmes registers five points for Canandaigua

FRIDAY’S GAMES

CHURCHVILLE-CHILI (2-9-0) 2
CANANDAIGUA (4-7-1) 7
Dominic Holmes recorded five points to help Canandaigua win two of its last three contests. Holmes scored twice and tallied three assists. Arthur Fuller registered a hat trick that included two power play goals and a helper. Jack Williamson and Gavin Nemitz found the back of the net while chipping in two assists. Nemitz’s goal came on the power play. Canandaigua finished a perfect 3-for-3 on the man-advantage. Teron Bacon, Zachary Hoffman, Ethan Tumbiolo, and Eamon Smith all had an assist for the Gray Wolves. Brody Gallagher and Evan Girolamo found the back of the net for Churchville-Chili. Anthony Indiano registered two assist while Grayson Galliford and Joseph Covella each chipped in one of their own for the Saints. Covella’s assist was his first varsity point.

PENFIELD (2-5-1) 2
PITTSFORD (9-1-1) 7
David Pollard tallied five points to guide Pittsford back-to-back victories. Pollard recorded a hat trick and two assists. David Pollard Found the back of the net twice while chipping in an assist. Charles Hezel scored a power play goal and registrered two helpers for the Panthers. Evan Weiner also scored in the contest. Kelan Ahern tallied four helpers while Ryan Schmalstich collected tow of his own. George Marron and McAllister King scored the goals for Penfield. Marron’s scored on the power play. Corbin Miller tallied a helper for the Patriots.

IRONDEQUOIT (6-3-2) 6
OSWEGO (X) 3
Henry Velepec tallied a hat trick to help Irondequoit end its two game winless streak. Landon Bryan scored a goal and recorded an assist in the contest. Levi Powell and Matthew Parsons both registered a power play goal for the Eagles. Alex McLaughlin collected three helpers while Hunter Weisbeck chipped in two of his own. Porter Roberts and Porter Roberts each had an assist for Irondequoit.

WFL PANTHERS (8-3-0) 1
BRIGHTON/HFL/EASTRIDGE/GANANDA (2-7-1) 2
Patrick Rohr led the Brighton/HFL/Eastridge/Gananda offense with a two point performance to help them win back-to-back contests. Rohr found the back of the net and tallied an assist for Bruins. Phillip Stapf also scored in the contest. Sean Allen scored the lone goal for the WFL PAnthers on the power play with assists from Ryan Allen and Graham Mauchly.

Alex Rink led the Greece Storm offense with two goals and an assist. Chase Benham and Noah Guntrum also found the back of the net for the Storm. Noah Hennigan, Wyatt Pilgrim, and Gaborik Monks each had an assist in the contest. Zachary Haines led the Portside offense with a two goal effort. Luke LaForce and Andrew Lamberton both had a goal and a helper for the Royals. Wyatt Pentz, Samuel Schultz, and Tyler Archibald all had an assist in the contest

SPARTAN HOCKEY (6-4-0) 1

SATURDAY’S GAMES

BATAVIA NOTRE DAME (4-8-0) 1
AQUINAS (8-2-0) 8
Tyler Muir and Anthony Conte both tallied five points to help Aquinas win its fourth straight contest. Muir recorded a hat trick while chipping in two assists and Conte scored once and registered four helpers. Ryan Carmody Found the back of the net twice while also recording two assists. Caleb Wood Scored while collecting two helpers for the Li’l Irish. Bryce Miller scored his first varsity goal. Louie Ferrari, Colin Tracy, and Connor Powless all contributed an assist in the contest. Powless’ helper was his first varsity point. Cade Shamp scored the lone goal for Batavia Notre Dame short-handed and unassisted.

McQuaid won its third straight contest.
