Mid-week Section V Hockey Wrap: Rohr tallies a four-point performance for Brighton/HFL/Eastridge/Gananda; Johnson records shutout for McQuaid

TUESDAY’S GAMES

GREECE STORM (3-8-0) 1
BRIGHTON/HFL/EASTRIDGE/GANANDA (1-6-1) 4
Patrick Rohr recorded a four point effort to help Brighton/HFL/Eastrdige/Gananda secure its first victory of the season. Rohr registered a hat trick that included a goal on the power play and a goal that came a man short while also collecting an assist. Nathan Loncz tallied the other goal for the Bruins. Ethan Flannery and Jason Bennett each had a helper in the contest. Brandon Delaney scored the lone goal for the Greece Storm unassisted.

CANANDAIGUA (3-7-1) 6
IRONDEQUOIT (5-3-2) 6 OT
Dylan Carey tallied a hat trick for Irondequoit in the tie. One of Carey’s goals came on the power play. Douglas Velepec found the back of the net twice for the Eagles. A.J. Tuff scored his first varsity goal in the contest. Hunter Weisbeck collected four assists for Irondequoit. Landon Bryan, Alex McLaughlin, T.J Mayer, and Henry Velepec all registered a helper for the Eagles. Gavin Nemitz, Dominic Holmes, and Arthur Fuller all tallied two goals and an assist for Canandaigua. Jack Williamson registered two helpers while Teron Bacon, Zachary Hoffman, Josh McWilliams, and Matthew Ulrich all tallied one of their own.

PITTSFORD (8-1-1) 4
FAIRPORT (2-4-1) 2
Three third period goals helped Pittsford bounce-back from a loss in their last contest. Ryan Munzinger opened the contest’s scoring with a power play goal early in the first period for Pittsford with assists from Casey Reagan and Simon George. Grant Ralston tied the game for Fairport with his own power play goal late in the second period with help from Liam O’Donnell and Corey Rene. Lucas Andreatta gave the Red Raiders the lead a few minutes later. Reagan tied the game for Pittsford early in the third period unassisted. Charles Hezel gave the Panthers the lad back with another power play goal with help from David Pollard. Peter Yarovinsky scored an insurance goal with an assist from Steffen Finke late in the third.

SPARTAN HOCKEY (6-3-0) 3
PORTSIDE ROYALS (3-7-1) 5
Cole Laffin led the Portside Royals’ offense with a two goal effort to help them bounce-back from a defeat in their last contest. Zachary Haines and Samuel Schultz both had a goal and an assist in the contest. Max Clark also found the back of the net for the Royals. Andrew Lamberton and Wyatt Pentz both recorded two helpers while Luke LaForce collected one of his own.

MCQUAID (3-4-1) 3
Israel Johnson stopped all 13 shots he faced to help McQuaid win its third straight contest. After a scoreless first period, Eoghan Maier got the Black Knights on the board with assists from Peter Tamoutselis and Gianni Fusilli. Reid Starr doubled the lead a few minutes ago with help from Jayce Rodger and Wyatt Miller. Gavin Whalen scored the final McQuaid goal in the third period with assists from Tamoutselis and Jax Van Thof. Van Thof’s helper was his first varsity point.

WEDNESDAY’S GAME

WFL PANTHERS (8-2-0) 1
AQUINAS (7-2-0) 5
Connor Williams two goal performance helped Aquinas secure its third straight victory. Jonathan Blankenburg scored a goal and tallied an assist for the Li’l Irish. Tyler Muir and Steve Bell also found the back of the net in the contest. Louie Ferrari registered two helpers while Caleb Wood, Dominic Danno, and Charlie Shannon all collected one of their own. Ryan Allen scored the lone goal for the WFL Panthers with an assist from Liam Kivimaki.

THURSDAY’S GAME
