Weekend Section V Hockey Wrap: Scheirer tallies five points for Webster Thomas; Hudson records a shutout for Webster Schroeder

FRIDAY’S GAMES

LIVINGSTON LAKERS (0-2-0) 0
WFL PANTHERS (4-0-0) 3
Three different goal scorers helped the WFL Panthers stay undefeated. Sean Allen started the scoring early in the first period with an assist from Joe Walsh. Joseph Valenti A few minutes later found the back of the net with help from Graham Mauchly and Nathaniel Phillips. After no scoring in the second period, Phillips added on to the Panthers lead with assists from Mauchly and Walsh. Marco Palmisano stopped all 10 shots he faced for his first varsity shutout.

WEBSTER THOMAS (3-2-0) 9
BRIGHTON/HFL/EASTRIDGE/GANANDA (0-5-0) 1
 Nathan Scheirer recorded five points to guide Webster Thomas to its third straight victory. Scheirer scored four times while collecting an assist. Lucas Nuccitelli, Cam Hall, and Jackson Bernier all scored once and recorded two helpers. Oliver Summers scored his first varsity goal. Alex Wright also found the back of the net for the Titans. Aiden Paul finished the contest with two assists while Jagger Zammit and Nate VanHeusen each collected one of their own. Zammit’s assist was his first varsity point.

WEBSTER SCHROEDER (3-0-0) 6
Six different goal scorers helped Webster Schroeder stay undefeated on the season. Connor Scott, Aiden Spakoski, Anthony Pusateri, and AJ Gervaise all scored a goal and tallied an assist. Spakoski’s goal was his first varsity goal. Scott’s tally came on the man-advantage. Tyler Splain and Owen Baldwin also found the back of the net. Baldwin’s goal was his first at the varsity level. Nick Johnson and Nicholas Scott both recorded two helpers. Zachary Haines scored the lone goal for the Portside Royals. Wyatt Pentz and Max Clark assisted on the tally

PITTSFORD (5-0-1) 5
David Pollard and Kelan Ahern both tallied three-points to help Pittsford remain unbeaten. Ahern scored twice and registered an assist while Pollard found the back of the net once and chipped in two helpers. Peter Yarovinsky chipped in two-points with a goal and an assist. Charles Hezel scored unassisted short-handed goal for the Panthers. Ryan Munzinger and  Casey Reagan each collected a helper in the contest.

KENMORE EAST (VI) 1
BATAVIA NOTRE DAME (3-3-0) 3
Three different goal scorers helped propel Batavia Notre Dame to back-to-back victories. Will Stevens opened the scoring late in the first period with an assist from John Scheidt. Evan Patric extended the Untied’s lead early in the second with his first varsity goal with help from Luke Staley. After Kenmore East cut the lead to one late in the second, Cade Shamp put Batavia Notre Dame back up by two with unassisted goal mid-way through the third period. The United’s penalty kill was a perfect 8-for-8 during the contest.

PITTSFORD (6-0-1) 9
David Pollard tallied five points to help Pittsford win its third straight contest. Pollard finished the contest with two goals and three assists for his fifth straight multi-point contest. Ryan Schmalstitch registered four points with two goals and two helpers. Peter Yarovinsky had a goal and two assists. Charles Hezel, Kelan Ahern and Evan Weiner all finished with a goal and a helper for the Panthers. Weiner’s goal came on the power play. Adam Pollard also found the back of the net for Pittsford. Bear Wehrheim collected two helpers for the Panthers. Brendan Walsh, Simon George, and Nicholas Yarovinsky all registered an assist in the contest.

Cole Hudson stopped all 11 shots he faced to help Webster Schroeder stay undefeated. Hudson has recorded back-to-back 11 save shutouts. The sophomore net minder has given up a single goal so far this season. Nicholas Scott led the Warriors offense with a two goal effort. Anthony Pusateri recorded a goal and an assist. Noah Spakoski, Niko Schouten, and Cody Preston all found the back of the net as well for Webster Schroeder. Nick Johnson, Aiden Spakoski, and Colin Greene all registered a helper for the Warriors. Greene’s assist was his first varsity point.
