Wednesday Girls’ Basketball Wrap: Edison’s Jones scores 50, reaches career milestone; Bell tops Lyons with 30-point triple-double

Kaysia Jones accounted for 30 of her game-high 50 points in the second half as Edison outscored SOTA 33-28 to grab the win. Jones entered the 1,000-point club in the win. The senior hit 18 times from the floor with seven threes and seven free throws. Antoinette Cotton (4), Aireanna Presley (3), Charlena Robinson (2) and Ary’anna Mateo (2) each scored in the win. Breyelle Geiger led SOTA with 31 points. Jasmyne Jones ended with 22 points. Gabrielle Norman added four points and Tianna Scott added two points.

Jazmine Flowers ended with 11 of her game-high 19 points in the first-half as Monroe jumped out to a 23-9 lead. Aaliyah Tucker hit for 10 points in the win. Paola Pagan and Jonairys Cruz each pitched in six points. Kimani Mitchell and La’Nyah Taylor-Lugo had two points apiece in the win. Shajanae O’Neal topped Franklin with 15 points. Laraya Lewis hit for six points. Iza’Nique Twyman and A’Zhiya Warnick each hit a three. Paola Lorenzana connected on a free throw.

WILSON/EARLY (2-1) 24

Madison Simmons scored six of her game-high 20 points in the first quarter as East grabbed a 13-0 lead heading into the second frame. Simmons added 12 rebounds for a double-double. Darianna Weathers and Semaj Jackson each had 18 points. Jackson added 11 rebounds for a double-double of her own. Alani Montogomery (5), Tiyanna Martino (3) and T’Mahry Nesmith (2) each scored in the win. Daniela Cantero topped Wilson/Early with eight points. Mikalie Mixon (6), Beya Bounasri (5) and Bra’asia Lucas (5) also scored.

Amiyah Miles led Hilton with 14 points. Ally Starwald and Ava Heise each had 10 points. Jayleigh Esposito hit three threes. Taylor Anne ended with seven points and 13 rebounds. Amelia Sloan (4), Paige Dean (3), Sam Korzenieski (3) and Selah Spry (2) each scored in the win. Delaney Wilson topped Brighton with 11 points. Lily Zimmerman (6), Anna Miller (6), Riley Lawrence (5), Charlotte Goldfeder (5), Sara Solomon (2) and Neila Mariano (2) all scored.

Jordan Rasmussen topped Penfield with a game-high 21 points. Reegan Sercu and Sara Petre each added nine points. Olivia Constantino led Webster Thomas with seven points.

Maya Bellamy led Letchworth with 17 points and six rebounds. Sasha Bellamy hit for 16 points. Charity Scott pitched in 11 points. Annika Milillo (7), Gillian Kemp (5), Kendall Jines (4), Belle Akin, Lily DeRock (2), Harper Bliss (2) and McKenna Krist (2) each scored in the win. NiYhanah Marshall topped Young Women with 17 points. Jah’Zell Strong ended with 14 points. Liz’Vanni Ortiz (6), Yenny Reyes (5) and Ari Appleberry-Givens (4) also scored.

Alicia Wood topped Keshequa with a game-high 18 points. Bree Benner added 12 points and two assists. Braelyn Isaman ended with nine points, five assists and seven rebounds. Ryley Benner had seven points and six assists. Riley Nageldinger connected for six points and 12 rebounds. Raelyn Guldenschuh (6), Quinn Powers (2) and Belle Rigney (2) all scored in the win. Raegan Perkins led Wellsville with 11 points. Raegan Vogel (7), Lydia Kaye (6), Jayden Dunbar (5), Hailey Cowburn (4) and Caelyn Stevens (1) all pitched in.

Ja’Niyah Bell topped Lyons with a 30-point, 14-rebound, 11-steal triple-double. Kamryn Bonnel hit for 25 points. Car’Mella Parker ended with 20 points and seven rebounds. Ava Harris finished with eight points. Kalani Davis and Addison Jones each had four points. Areyanna Carter and Taylor Keeley each pitched in two points in the win. Genevieve VanDerBroek topped Sodus with 14 points.

Aniyah Eldridge topped East Rochester with 18 points and five assists. Elizabeth Grbic and Maddy Fioravanti ended with nine points apiece in the win.

Taylor Carnevale led Clyde-Savannah with a game-high 22 points. Larissa Walters pitched in 14 points. Alexis Tohafijan added six points and 13 rebounds. Taylor Bailey topped Red Creek with a team-high 13 points.

Nellie Koronas led Perry with 16 points. Astrid Bellamy ended with 10 points, five rebounds and five blocks. Madi Monteleone added six assists in the win.

HINSDALE (0-3) 14

Emalyn Mucher produced 26 points, 8 steals, 7 assists and 5 rebounds to lead Fillmore which opened with a 14-0 lead in the first quarter. Mattie McCumiskey finished with 14 points and 11 rebounds. Morghyn Ross added 10 points and five steals, while Miley Miller tallied eight points, 10 rebounds and seven steals. Kelsie Songster (2) rounded out the scoring for Fillmore. Lily Bushnell led Hinsdale with four points and nine rebounds.
