Saturday Girls’ Basketball Wrap: Pokracki and Gray lead Spencerport Angelo scores 19 in Honeoye Falls-Lima win

Alyssa Cowart finished with 24 points and eight steals to lead Eastridge on the road. Lilli Crittenden tallied four points, a steal, and a game-leading 14 rebounds while Qa’Mariona Greene recorded 12 points, seven rebounds, and a steal. Kenya Scott accounted for eight points, 12 rebounds, five steals, four assists and two blocks in the win. Tierra-Nicole Green recorded nine points, four steals and a rebound while Scarlett Kremer added two rebounds.

SPENCERPORT (1-1) 51

Leigha Pokracki finished with 21 and seven rebounds while Jorja Gray had 17 points and eight rebounds to lead Spenceport. Alis Gatto (8), Addiston Etter (3) and Teghan Vergamini (2) also scored for the Rangers. Gatto also accounted for three steals and two rebounds in the win. Anna Miller led Brighton with 10 points. Lily Zimmerman (5), Grace Papponetti (3), Riley Lawrence (3) and Sara Solomon (2) also scored for the Bruins.

Shaye Angelo led the charge with 19 points and six steals in Honeoye Falls-Lima’s second straight win. Sarah Smith led the game in rebounds with 12 and had eight points. Lauren Burke also had a career high in points with 12.

COLONIE CENTRAL (II) 72
Ella Trimarchi and Olivia Hoffman scored 23 and 22 points, respectively, in Colonie’s victory. Gianna Lake (9), Payton Rundell (6), Aliyah Pearson (5), Madison Baumann (3), Ariana Lampedusa (2) and Kelise Campbell (2) rounded out the scoring for the Wolfpack. Colonie pulled away from a one-point game at halftime using a 43-18 advantage in the second half.

PENN YAN ACADEMY (2-0) 37
Bailey Cooper went 3-of-3 at the free throw line as part of a 13-point effort to lead Penn Yan. The Mustangs used a 12-point second quarter to take a lead into halftime. Makenna Mullins scored six of her eight points in the second half. Mady Pierce (6), Morgan Breuer (4), Abby Fisher (2) and Maddie Breuer (2) also scored for Penn Yan.

FREWSBURG CENTRAL (0-1) 55
Tournament MVP Jordyn Dyring scored 18 points, recorded five rebounds, two assists, a steal, and a block to lead Hornell to a win in the Roger Weiss Memorial tournament. Selena Maldonado added 15 points, five assists, two steals, a block, and was tied with the game lead in rebounds with eight. Raegan Evingham also had eight rebounds, as well as recording nine points, three assists, and a block. Mia Nasca and A’jonay Hawkins both had eight points and an assist, while Teegan Eveland registered four points, 2 steals, and 6 rebounds.

MYNDERSE ACADEMY (1-1) 60
Peyton Verkey finished with a team-high 16 points while also tallying three steals, two assists, and four rebounds to lead Mynderse. Danielle McDermott paced the Blue Devils with six steals, and Reese Markel led in rebounds with eight while also scoring 10 points. Mynderse grabbed an early 11-point lead before taking a 12-point advantage into halftime.

Mia Price scored 15 points to secure the Kendall Tip-Off Tournament championship for the host Eagles. Stella Kwiatek won the tournament MVP.

CANISTEO-GREENWOOD (2-0) 59
ELBA CENTRAL (0-1) 31
Kara Mahany scored 17 points on the back of an eight-point second quarter performance to lead Canisteo-Greenwood to a second straight win. Mahany went 3-for-4 at the free-throw line. Canisteo-Greenwood led 26-16 at the half scoring 22 points in the third. Bailey Mullen recorded a game-high 10 rebounds to go with eight points. Peyton Bentley added seven points with five of them coming at the free throw line. The Chargers’ defense held Elba to under 10 points per quarter. Kara Mahany was dubbed player of the game.

Cadence Brecker scored a game-leading 22 points to lead the HAC Wolves to their first win of the season. Baylor Smith tallied 20 points of her own, while Mary Muller finished with seven points.
