Isaiah Caruthers scored a game-high 20 points with 12 coming in the first half while Jaquan Gaskin followed with 19 points including 14 in the opening 16 minutes as Padilla jumped out to a 42-26 lead it did not relinquish. Ty’Shawn Martino netted six first half points while Hassan Isgowe and Jay’zeil Ragins both notched four points apiece. L’Trail St. Fleurant knocked down a three while Khyrese Boose and Dawon Watson both tallied two points. For Aquinas, Carson Allen led the way with 14 points while Nico Schiano reached double-figures with 10 points. Max Blackwood, Tristan Miller and Quentin Breedlove all added seven points each. Andrew Palermo (5) and Frankie Burgess (3) rounded out the scoring.

MOUNT MORRIS (1-0) 59
LETCHWORTH (0-1) 54

Ed Colon stuffed the stat sheet with 20 points including 12 from beyond the arc, eight steals along with three rebounds and hit the two game-sealing free throws with four seconds left to ice it for Mount Morris. Shawntez Brown notched 16 points, five steals and four assists while Ilaijah Rowley added 10 points and five boards. Ben Canary collected six points, six assists and three steals while Brayden Lewis followed with six points and eight rebounds. Evan Powell tallied one point, five rebounds and two blocks. For Letchworth, Brody Beachel dropped 28 points to lead all scorers and picked up six boards, three dimes and three steals along the way. Jaydin Wright scored nine points with five rebounds. Darren Abbott grabbed a game-high 11 rebounds while Maddox Kelly hauled in 10 boards.

Cole DiQuattro led the way with 14 points while Andre White followed with 13 to pace Byron-Bergen. For Warsaw, Brayden Merritt netted a game-high 16 points.
