CORNWALL (17-1-1) 3

Chris Keller netted a pair of goals in the first half, but it wasn’t enough as Churchville-Chili (17-2-2) fell to Cornwall (17-1-1) of Section IX, 3-2 in the New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHSAA) Class AA semifinal, Friday at Middletown High School in Middletown, New York. CLASS AAA

GUILDERLAND (12-6-3) 0
FAIRPORT (18-0-0) 4

The front-line duo combined again less than 11 minutes into the second half when they double-teamed an unsuspecting Guilderland back for a takeaway. Sean Griffin went in 1v1 on Colin Chapman, cut to his left and finished into an open net. READ MORE.

EDMESTON (15-3-3) 2 (1) F/PK

James Hillman got the Eagles on the board with 16:55 remaining in the first half, scoring on a penalty kick. After Edmeston tied the score at one with just under 20 minutes to go in the second half, Judah Russell gave Fillmore the lead back with 11:26 left. The Panthers once again leveled the match with just 24 seconds left, cashing in on a penalty kick, sending the game to overtime. Two overtime periods weren’t enough to decide this one, requiring penalty kicks. Fillmore ended up taking the PKs 3-1, advancing the Eagles to the Class D championship.

SUNDAY

CLASS AAA

COMMACK (XI/20-1-1) 1
FAIRPORT (18-1-0) 0

Fairport was looking to become the third Section V team to repeat as state champions joining Red Creek (2007, 2008) and Pittsford Mendon (1997, 1998) and the first local side to achieve that at the highest classification. READ MORE.

Avery Potter connected on the equalizer with less than two minutes remaining in regulation, and Fillmore went on to earn a share of the NYSPHSAA Class D title after playing to a 4-4 draw with reigning state champion Hamilton. READ MORE.

FRIDAY

CHENANGO VALLEY (IV) 0

Eca Kabeza led Lafyette with two goals and two assists. Kabeza set up Fredy Sanclemente for a pair of first-half tallies to give the Generals a 2-nil lead heading into halftime. Kabeza found the back of the net less than 10 minutes after the break with an unassisted effort. Nagalele Asende had an assist on the final goal of the game.

SATURDAY

CLASS A

EAST AURORA (20-2-0) 2
MAINE-ENDWELL (IV) 0

Owen Mack finished with a goal and an assist for East Aurora which clinched a spot in the NYSPHSAA Class A championship game. Mack set up Owen Eisenreid to snap a scoreless game late in the second half. Mack then took a feed from Noah Bernys for a marker of his own. Charlie Finnerty made six saves for the shutout.

CLASS B

LAFAYETTE (19-3-0) 0
WESTHILL (III) 6

CLASS C

WILSON (21-0-0) 1
SETON CATHOLIC (IV) 0

Aidan Neumann supplied all the offense needed as Wilson, making a program-first trip to the state semifinals, clinched a spot in Sunday’s Class C championship game. Neumann’s goal, his 55th of the season, came midway through the first half. Max Harmon had an assist on the play. Eli Moore made seven saves as part of the shutout.

SUNDAY

CLASS A

EAST AURORA (21-2-0) 2
RYE (I) 0

Lucas Jamesson and Owen Mack finished with a goal and an assist apiece as Section VI champion East Aurora (21-2-0) defeated Rye (18-2-3), 2-0 in the New York State Public High School Athletic Association (NYSPHSAA) championship game from Middletown High School on Sunday afternoon. READ MORE.
