One team is looking for its second Section V title in the past three seasons. The other is looking for its first sectional championship in a decade. East/World of Inquiry and Brockport will do battle to decide who’s the best in Class A2 on Friday night. Here’s the breakdown:
No. 1 EAST/WORLD OF INQUIRY EAGLES (7-2/5-1 against Class A2)

How they arrived here: East/World of Inquiry defeated No. 8 seed Wilson/Early College 48-6 before beating No. 5 seed Eastridge 39-0 in the semifinal round. Brockport took down No. 7 seed Greece Arcadia 42-6 in the quarterfinals. In the semifinals, the Blue Devils outlasted No. 3 seed Canandaigua 16-14.

History 101: The two teams met all the way back in Week 2, with East/World of Inquiry coming out with a 34-0 win. The Eagles are looking to win their Section V title in the past three seasons and their sixth since 1977. Brockport has only one one section title in that same span, coming in 2015.
What’s at stake: A spot in the Section V Class A Regional Qualifier against the winner of the Class A1 championship between Brighton and Webster Schroeder.
Kickoff is set for 5:00 pm on Friday night at SUNY Brockport.
