
One squad is looking to continue its best season since 2017. The other aims to avenge last year’s regional final defeat. Livonia and Falconer/CV/MG will meet with a spot in the NYS Class B Semifinal on the line. Here’s the breakdown:

How they arrived here: Livonia took down Dansville (4-0) and Hornell (2-0) en route to clinching a spot in the Class B1 championship game. The Bulldogs then beat Haverling (4-0) and Williamson (4-0) to reach the Far West Regional. Falconer/CV/MG beat Medina (8-0), Akron (3-0), Southwestern (4-1) and Allegany-Limestone (1-0) to capture the Section VI crown.

Trends: Livonia enters on an 11-game win streak, during which the Bulldogs have allowed five goals total. Falconer/CV/MG has won six of its last seven games.

History 101: Livonia is coming off its Section V-leading 20th title and first since 2017. The Bulldogs are 3-0-2 in regional games since 2001 including a win over Fredonia in the 2006 state quarterfinal on the way to a state championship. Falconer/CV/MG, which fell to Hornell 2-1 in the 2024 regional, is in its second year as a merged program. Maple Grove made seven state quarterfinal appearances from 2006 to 2018, four at Class C and three at Class D. Falconer reached regionals in 2014 and 2007 when the Falcons lost to Livonia, 1-0.
What’s at stake: A spot in the Class B NYS semifinal against either Canton (X AL) or Chenango Forks (IV).
