One program is aiming to three-peat as sectional champions and win its 13th in program history. The other squad is looking to win its fifth title in school history and get revenge from the past two years. It’s a rematch of the 2024 Class AAA sectional final as Fairport and McQuaid Jesuit go head-to-head for the championship. Here’s the breakdown:

How they arrived here: Top-seeded Fairport (No. 1 NYSSWA) automatically advanced to the semifinals thanks to a first-round bye and pulled out a 2-1 victory over No. 4 Rush-Henrietta to advance to the championship. No. 3 McQuaid Jesuit earned a first round bye as well and defeated No. 2 WOIS/Edison/Padilla/Sota 5-1 to clinch a spot in the finals.

Trends: Fairport rolls into the championship on a 34-game win with the Red Raiders most recent loss coming on Nov. 4th, 2023 when Fairport fell 1-0 to Lancaster in the Far West Regional. In those two years, Fairport has outscored opponents 98-25. This season the Red Raiders have scored three goals or more on eight different occasions and have not allowed more than one in a game all year. To go along with that, Fairport has recorded 10 shutouts throughout the season with four of its last five victories coming via shutout as well. McQuaid Jesuit enters the finals on a two-game winning streak outscoring its opponents 7-2 in that stretch. The Knights have notched four shutouts on the season and have scored two or more goals nine times this year.

History 101: Fairport is back in the sectional championship for the three-peat as the Red Raiders defeated McQuaid Jesuit the past two years 3-2 and 1-0. Fairport looks to go back-to-back as NYS state champions after winning its first in program history in 2024 after falling in the state chip three times prior in 2019, 2014 and 2013.
McQuaid Jesuit is looks to flip the script in 2025 after falling to Fairport in the final the past two years. The last time the Knights won a sectional title was in 2022 when McQuaid Jesuit shutout Brighton 2-0 and eventually made it all the way to the NYS chip, but fell to Scarsdale (I) 2-0. The Knights have four sectional titles in program history and one NYS championship coming back in 2017.
What’s at stake: A spot in the Class AAA Far West Regional against the Section VI champions Lancaster.
Kickoff is scheduled for 6:30 p.m. on Tuesday Nov. 4th at Pittsford Sutherland High School.
