Friday Boys’ Soccer Wrap: Walsh’s brace sends Penfield to AA semis; Stamets and Button lead A-P

Braeden Naujokas netted the game-winner in overtime to lift Churchville-Chili to the semifinals. Midway through the final 40, Naujokas assisted Christopher Keller for the game-tying goal. Mason Simmons tallied one save. The Saints will face No. 5 Brockport in the AA semifinals.

NO. 2 SPENCERPORT (13-4-1) 1

Michael Tette scored the lone goal to left Spencerport. The Rangers will face Penfield in the AA semifinals.

Connor Walsh scored twice, as Penfield advanced to the semifinals. Walsh connected in the first half and then completed the brace 22 minutes after the halftime break. Mason Vallow put the game out of reach in the 74th minute. Dylan Zimmerman set up Walsh’s first goal. Caden Shager accounted for the assist on Walsh’s second marker. Dylan Finnochario also had a helper in the win. Ryder Lucas made four saves to register the shutout. The Patriots will face Spencerport in the AA semifinals.

Benjamin Burrows and Tyler Hurley netted second half goals to lead Pittsford Mendon to the semifinals. Christopher Bergholtz scored the first goal of the game 15 minutes in while Evan Zavalo and Naveen Sidhu each tallied an assist. Carmen Esposito recorded three saves for Pittsford Mendon’s eighth shutout of the year. The Vikings will play No. 4 Honeoye Fall-Lima in the Class A semifinals.

Hezekiah Doane found the back of the net twice during a three-goal second half to lift Batavia to the semifinals. Rylan Bohn scored a goal at the 60-minute mark while Jaziah Ayala and Troy Hawley netted first half goals. Finn Halpin notched three assists while Trey Tryon added two. The Blue Devils will play No. 2 Pittsford Sutherland in the Class A semifinals.

Cade Merrill and Sam Jokl scored a goal apiece as Honeoye Falls-Lima clinched a spot in the semifinals. Ezra Gathercole and Chase Pritchard both accounted for an assist in the win. Hudson Reed made four saves to register a shutout – HFL’s fourth clean sheet of the season. The Cougars will play top-seeded Pittsford Mendon for a spot in the finals.

CLASS D1

NO. 1 NORTHSTAR CHRISTIAN ACADEMY (15-2-0) 5

Christian Mazur netted a pair of goals, and Northstar Christian pulled away from a one-goal game at halftime. Javier Leon, Sam Bugota and Carter Grabowski also scored in the win. Levi Hinds accounted for a pair of assists. Ferb Ngo, Jayden Gauthier and Bugota each had a helper. Northstar Christian will face C.G. Finney in the D1 semifinals.

Isaac Wilcox led the way with two goals while Isaiah Sisson followed with a goal and an assist as Fillmore clinched a spot in the semifinals. Ezra Knapp and Levi Russell both found the back of the net once while Brayden Walton picked up two assists. Carson Sanasith also tallied an assist while Jared Boon recorded one save. The Eagles will face No. 3 Genesee Valley-Belfast in the Class D1 semifinals.

NO. 3 GENESEE VALLEY-BELFAST (14-1-2) 2

Aydan Button scored the lone goal of the game while Eli Wright hauled in 11 saves for Arkport-Canaseraga. Genesee Valley-Belfast will play No. 2 Fillmore for a spot in the Class D1 finals.

NO. 4 CHARLES G. FINNEY (11-5-1) 4

NO. 1 AVOCA-PRATTSBURGH (11-5-1) 4

Devin Stamets scored twice while Carter Button had a goal and an assist to lead Avoca-Prattsburgh. Stamets and Button accounted for all the offense as A-P took a 3-nil lead at halftime. Elias Putnam also scored in the win. Jaeden Crowder contributed a pair of assists. Evan Obrochta also added an assist. Crowder and Zachary Heale had one save apiece to combine for the shutout. The Titans will face fourth-seeded Mount Morris in the semifinals.

NO. 2 LYNDONVILLE (10-7) 3

NO. 6 LIMA CHRISTIAN (3-13-1) 0
NO. 3 ANDOVER-WHITESVILLE (10-7-0) 4

Brody Vance and Isaiah Cole led the way with two goals and an assist apiece to pace Andover-Whitesville to the semifinals. Colton Calladine notched two assists. The Panthers will take on No. 2 Lyndonville for a spot in the Class D2 finals.

Robbie Lonsberry netted the eventual game-winner 15 minutes in to lift Mount Morris to the semifinals. Dominic LaPiana made three saves for the fifth shutout of the year. The Blue Devils will play No. 1 Avoca-Prattsburgh for the Class D2 semifinals.
