Friday Football Wrap: Childs tallies six touchdowns for Arcadia; Johnson scores two for Irondequoit

Zane Kropman ran for 215 yards and three touchdowns as Penfield won its second straight game. Dom Giunta added another rushing touchdown for the Patriots, while Jake Mauer made seven tackles and returned an interception for a touchdown. Ronan Boyle recorded four tackles and a sack.

MJ Wells rushed for 185 yards and three touchdowns to make it six wins in a row for Webster Thomas. Khimere Johnson contributed two touchdowns for the Titans: a 59-yard catch and a kickoff return to the house. Ari Gefell and Tyler Estelle each had six solo tackles, including three for a loss.

Webster Schroeder got the ball after the coin toss and put together a slow, emphatic drive that burnt up nearly eight minutes of clock and had multiple Warriors involved. Watkins used his legs to pick up a 4th and short at midfield, connected with Daniel Hilfiker a few plays later that moved the ball into the redzone, and followed it up with another completion, this time to Robert Kenny, to set up first and goal. Matthew Kosiorek threw for 118 yards and a touchdown while Junior Luca Aurioso made five catches and a touchdown on offense with eight tackles on defense as Hilton earned its fifth straight win. Calvin Starwald added 12 tackles, while Jared Wade returned a 85-yard kickoff for a touchdown.

Daeshawn Johnson rushed for two touchdowns while Cooper Moore racked up 138 yards on the ground as Irondequoit remained undefeated. Eric Torres III passed for 48 yards and scored a touchdown on the ground as well. Sam Thore led the Eagles defense with 11 tackles, while Myles Kedley had nine. Owen Smalline, Landon Bryan, and Deashawn Johnson all had six tackles.

Jackson Childs threw for five touchdowns and 218 yards while rushing for 158 yards and a touchdown as Greece Arcadia earned its first win of the season. Drake Sapp caught four of Childs’ touchdown passes as well as a two-point conversion, while Javion Williams also had a touchdown reception.

Grady Goodberlet caught two touchdown passes from Nate Meacham and returned a punt for another as Honeoye Falls-Lima took the win against their Section VI opponent. Brian Finn rushed for three touchdowns and racked up 116 rushing yards. Ben Feinberg also recorded a rushing touchdown.

LE ROY/CALEDONIA-MUMFORD (4-3) 14

Caden Sumeriski scored an early 68-yard rushing touchdown and then a two-point conversion as Letchworth/Warsaw/Perry jumped to an 8-0 lead at the half and held on for the win. Maddox Kelly also scored a rushing touchdown, while Brayden Merritt led LPW with seven tackles. Logan Schroeder tallied six tackles, while Kelly and Brayden Schroeder had five. Kelly also had an interception and Merritt forced a fumble.

Rushing touchdowns from Jacob Benitez and Seth Eadie helped lead Livonia to its first win of the season. Jack Henry threw for one touchdown, which was initially received by Benitez before he lateraled it to Eadie for the score. Eadie also hit a field goal and returned an interception for a touchdown while making five tackles. Zach Gardiner and Brandon Shantz each had six tackles, with Shantz also getting a sack. Carter Breu made five tackles with a sack. Benitez recovered a fumble on defense.

AVON (5-2) 21
YORK/PAVILION (6-1) 42

Parker Bonafede rushed for 101 yards and four touchdowns as York/Pavilion won its second straight and third out of its last four. Javen Jackson ran for 86 yards, while Yeriel Dias-Pena accumulated 70 yards. Trent Englert made five solo tackles and six assists while forcing a fumble and recovering a fumble. Liam Campbell and Dan Murphy each had four solo tackles, with Campbell also making six assisted tackles. Kalman Dolgos had two rushing touchdowns for Avon, while James Chase had one. Bobby Bridges led the River Hawks on defense with 11 tackles, just ahead of Dolgos’ 10 and nine each for Brady Ellsworth and Kellan Schneider.

Ethan Bauer rushed for 193 yards and three touchdowns as Dansville/Wayland-Cohocton earned the win. Bauer also converted a two-pointer while amassing six tackles and two sacks on defense. Jack Porter led the defense with seven tackles and also recovered a fumble. Cam Lantz and Dawson Stephens both had six tackles, with Lantz also getting two sacks and a two-point conversion. Cody Moran pulled down an interception, and Josh Stanley forced a fumble.

Khamari Eldridge rushed for 75 yards, two touchdowns, and a two-point conversion as Geneva won its third straight. Benjamin Santos completed a touchdown pass to Prodigy Irvin. Travis Tolbert led Geneva with 101 rushing yards while scoring a touchdown and a two-point conversion, while Gianni Trunzo Velazquez also earned a rushing touchdown.
