Friday Football Wrap: Blye’s four touchdowns leads Avon; Rossignol’s three rushing touchdowns helps keep Brighton unbeaten

Brighton stayed undefeated behind a three-touchdown night from Zack Rossignol as the Bruins pulled ahead to a 28-0 lead by the end of the third quarter en route to victory. Rossignol ultimately ran for 151 yards, including 91 yards on one of his touchdowns. Justin Medina rushed for 174 yards and two touchdowns for the Bruins. Clarence Bell led Brighton in receiving yards, with 52. Matthew Heinniger and Anthony Julian each made five tackles, including one each for a loss. Medina, Brandon Kemp, and Queyanu McDermott all had an interception. Patrick Newcomer was 5-for-5 in PATs.

James Kester rushed for 124 yards on 21 carries and Sam Roselli threw for 104 yards on 7-of-11 passing to lead Fairport. Brian Patterson led the defense with 10 tackles.

Eric Torres III threw for exactly 100 yards and completed a touchdown to Christian Freeman as Irondequoit jumped to an early 14-0 lead and never relinquished it. Torres also ran for a touchdown. Cooper More led Irondequoit with 140 yards, while Jayden Nelson rushed for 78. Kieran Stenzel led all Eagles running backs with two touchdowns, while Josh Barr and DeShawn Johnson also scored on the ground. Sam Thore led defensively with seven tackles, two interceptions, and a fumble recovery. Owen Smalline also earned seven tackles, and was credited with a sack. Anthony Major and Myles Kedley each recorded six tackles, with Major also tallying a sack.

A fumble recovered and returned for a touchdown by Devon Pryor helped Rochester Prep jump ahead grab its first win of the season. Drevieon Scott Harris rushed for 150 yards and three touchdowns, while Jha’mere Doyle-Spearman Jackson Childs scored twice while rushing for 104 yards for Arcadia. Defensively, Javion Williams snagged two interceptions and made four tackles, while Jayden Jessmer led the Titans with nine tackles. Kaleb Schulz had a tackle for a loss as well as a sack.

Maggio Buchholz rushed for three touchdowns and 170 yards on offense while recording 13 tackles plus two sacks and a forced fumble on defense as Batavia stayed undefeated. Nolan Ball rushed for 132 yards for the Blue Devils, while Lakoda Mruczek rushed for 70 yards while making seven tackles and a forced fumble. Cole Davis recorded six tackles including one for a loss, while Karvel Martino made five tackles and two for a loss. Luke Gutman and Will Stevens each made two tackles while pulling down an interception.

Humphrey’s squad opened the game with a quick touchdown drive that featured a 32-yard pass from quarterback Brady McClurg to Donovan Gaillard to flip the field before McClurg connected with Jude Christ a few plays later for an 11-yard touchdown. READ MORE HERE...

Jacob Benitez rushed for 196 yards and two touchdowns as Wellsville got back into the win column. Seth Eadie, Jack Ackerman, and Zach Yamin all rushed for over 40 yards for the Lions. Andy Crilly led the Wellsville defense with 10 tackles, with Chayse Barrett claiming six and Seth Eadie racking up five as well as a sack.

LETCHWORTH/WARSAW/PERRY (3-1) 48
Letchworth/Warsaw/Perry scored early and often to win its second straight. Caden Sumeriski led the way with 125 rushing yards and two touchdowns, while Aiden Shelley, Logan Gath, Ronan Merritt, Maddox Kelly, and Maddox Regatuso also scored on the ground. Brayden Merritt led LPW with six tackles, including one for a loss, while Carter Pricer and Shelley each had four tackles. Maddox Kelly also snagged an interceptions, and Regatuso made a fumble recovery.

Evan Blye’s four touchdown passes highlighted the Avon senior’s 265-yard night as the River Hawks won their second straight. Kalman Dolgos caught two of Blye’s touchdown passes as part of a 114 yard receiving night – the senior also rushed for 61 yards and a touchdown. James Chase rushed for 134 yards and a touchdown for the River Hawks, while Eli Rex and Blayden Borsching also scored touchdowns. Gabe Mayen was a perfect seven-for-seven in point-after-tries. Brady Ellsworth led Avon in tackles, with 11, while Bob Bridges and Chase each recorded nine. Aidan Lindstrom made eight tackles.

CANISTEO-GREENWOOD (2-2) 7
OAKFIELD-ALABAMA/ELBA (0-4) 0
Dominic West led Oakfield-Alabama/Elba with eight tackles, while Landon Pangrazio recorded a sack to get with six tackles, including one for a loss. Ty Reilly also made six tackles, including one for a loss.

NOTRE DAME BATAVIA/BYRON-BERGEN (1-3) 20
YORK/PAVILION (4-0) 35
Parker Bonafede passed for two touchdowns and ran for two more as York/Pavilion used a 28-point second half to stay undefeated. Bonafede’s two passing touchdowns were part of a 127 yard night in the air for him. Javen Jackson rushed for 57 yards, including a 40-yard touchdown. Johnny Ayers caught both of Bonafede’s touchdown passes. Liam Campbell and Trent Englert led the Golden Knights with 19 and 13 tackles, respectively. Caleb Gavin made eight tackles and snagged an interception. Aiden Kobylanski tallied three tackles and a sack, while Jackson made three tackles.

Gianni Velazquez scored the lone Geneva touchdown, while also contributing 10 tackles and a tackle-for-loss on defense. Julian Johnson made 10 tackles including one for a loss while adding a sack and a fumble recovery. Khy Archibald-Shorter made six tackles and pulled down an interception. Ben Budgar forced a fumble as part of a five-tackle night. Jeffrey Castro-Anderson was credited with a sack.

Newark coach Mike McGavisk recorded his 100th career win as Newark stayed unbeaten on the season. Carter Graser, threw for 79 yards and three touchdowns as well a two-point conversion. Graser also rushed for 64 yards and a touchdown. Ki’Marion Woolfolk caught two touchdown passes, while Jykell Rodriguez caught another. Brodie Newmyer threw for 152 yards and a touchdown for Wayne, with Joseph Tumia catching the touchdown pass. Newmyer also scored a touchdown and a two-point conversion on the ground. Cody Crandall rushed for 100 yards and a score.
