Thursday Boys’ Soccer Wrap: Ali scores winner for World of Inquiry/Edison/Padilla/School of the Arts; Moore hat-tricks and picks up two assists for Honeoye

Ibrahimu Ali scored twice in the second half including the game winner in the final seconds of regulation as World of Inquiry/Edison Tech/Padilla/School of the Arts won its third straight game. David Nwaba assisted on the winning goal. Parfait Mwepu scored in the first half off of an assist from Donis Vasquez Lopez. Muktar Abdi assisted Ali’s first goal.

Noah Butler and Elijah Doell each scored a goal as Mynderse scored three or more goals for the fourth time this season. Elijah Doell and Ethan Olmstead each picked up an assist.

Brendan Moore scored the first three goals of the game as Honeoye picked up its second straight win. Moore also picked up a pair of assists on goals from Phillip Osburn and Colby Klatt. Landon Washburn scored the final two goals of the game. Klatt assisted on two of Moore’s goals and one of Washburn’s goals. Owen Barber had an assist. Brandon Schneider made four saves.

Collin Bacher scored in the first half and Spencer Jensen scored in the second half as Penn Yan picked up its first win of the season. Alexander Leisner assisted on both goals. Keegan Christensen made 10 saves.

Zachary Shoop made six saves for Wayne and picked up his third shutout in a row.

Connor Betrus scored a pair of first-half goals and assisted on a goal in the second half as Naples extended its streak of games with four or more goals to four. Betrus opened the scoring on a unassisted goal in the 13th minute before Isaac Ward set him up five minutes later to make it 2-0. Ward scored in the seventh minute off a pass from Riccardo Izzo to make it 3-1, and Betrus found Maddox Manella for a goal in the 30th minute to bring the game to its final score of 4-1. Brayden Arber scored for Bloomfield. Dagan Brewster made 15 saves for the Bombers.

Marco Picco scored what ended up being the deciding goal in the 13th minute off an assist from Jayden Rasephei as Hornell allowed one goal or less for the fourth straight game. Alfie Whitley had two saves. Kaidan O’Connor had 10 saves for Livonia.
