Wednesday Boys’ Soccer Wrap: Gathercole’s hat trick leads HF-L; Lamb lifts Byron-Bergen/Elba in OT

GREECE ATHENA (2-2) 1

Two goals and an assist from Brandon Owens led Greece Arcadia as it used a run of three unanswered goals to get back into the win column. Nicholas Pullano scored and earned an assist for the Titans, while Vadym Leskiv tallied the other assist. Nathan Aldrich made eight saves in goal. Athena’s Landon Ambeau opened scoring with an unassisted goal in the first half, while Ryan Schumacher recorded 10 saves. READ MORE.

GATES CHILI (0-3) 0

Braeden Naujokas and Avery Ewell both scored twice for Churchville-Chili while Christopher Keller tallied three assists for the Saints. Lucas Cariola had the other goal for Churchville-Chili, assisted by Kyler Thomas. Mason Simmons made five saves in the shutout.

FAIRPORT (5-0) 3
WEBSTER SCHROEDER (1-3) 0

Fairport used three second-half goals and a joint shutout from Evan Furciniti and Jared Mulley to stay perfect on the season. Justin Burton, Trevor Scoppa, and Drew Kohl all scored, while Tim Donner notched an assist for the Red Raiders.

PITTSFORD SUTHERLAND (3-1) 2

Ryan Camman scored twice and assisted on another while Cash Rosado scored one and assisted on two others as Brockport jumped ahead 2-0 and then added two more in the second half to hold on for the win. Andrew Phillips scored the first goal for Brockport, while Kyle LaForce put his name in the assist column. Ty Sherman earned the win in net for the Blue Devils. Jack Woods and Aiden Hoy scored for Sutherland.

PITTSFORD MENDON (4-0) 3
CANANDAIGUA (2-2) 0

Colin Krohn scored twice while Nolan Rae made three saves for Pittsford Mendon. Grady Kenny had the other goal, while Evan Zavalo and Jay Gabriel tallied assists.

Ezra Gathercole’s hat trick led Honeoye Falls-Lima to its first victory of the season. Linden Bellizzi and Matthew Remus also scored for the Cougars, while Cade Merrill racked up three assists. Three goalkeepers split time in net- Hudson Reed made three saves, while Brody Swan and Lukas Wilson saved one each.

Michael Tette scored twice for Spencerport, each on an assist from Zach Tortora. Antonio Marsocci earned the win in net for the Rangers.

A goal each from Wesley Zeller – a header for his first varsity score – and Alec Insalaco led Irondequoit on a second-half comeback to get back to the win column. Donovan Peashey earned an assist.

Peter Jacob, Taha Quidoos, Justin Simpson, and Owen Switzer all scored for Gananda as the Blue Panthers won their third straight. Henry Shutts recorded two assists, while Jayden Holmes added another. Jackson Giancursio made four saves in the victory.

Perry Francis led East Rochester with two goals as the Bombers remained undefeated on the season. Sean Hogan, Brad Chambers, and Tristan Wollschleger also scored, with Hogan also recording two assists. Sean Lewis (2) and Judah Tanner also got into the assist column.

An overtime goal from Joel Lamb kept Byron-Bergen/Elba undefeated. Brayden Gelsomino had the assist on the winning goal for the Bees. Earlier, Byron-Bergen/Elba got on the board on a score by Mason Farner, assisted by Cody Carlson.

HOUGHTON (2-2) 2

Joshua Davidson scored both goals unassisted for Houghton as the Panthers won a second straight game. Jerry Pham made 18 saves for the Houghton, while Coleman Searle saved eight for Cuba-Rushford/Hinsdale, including a stop of a penalty kick.

Brayden Walton’s two goals spearheaded Fillmore to victory while Jared Boon made a save during a clean-sheet performance as goalkeeper. Judah Russell tallied a goal and an assist, while Isaiah Sisson rounded out the goal sheet. Levi Russell and Jayce Ashton each were credited with an assist.

CAMPBELL-SAVONA (3-2) 1
JASPER-TROUPSBURG (1-3) 0

Campbell-Savona’s Lukas Carapella scored the match’s lone goal in the 65th minute as the Panthers won their second game of their last three. Liam Maddock earned the assist, while Chance Miller made three saves. Jasper-Troupsburg’s Zachary Hyman made eight saves in net to help keep the Wildcats in the game despite getting outshot 20-to-5.
