Thursday Boys’ Soccer Wrap: Livonia’s Phillips turns in hat trick; Reyes-Rosario does it all for Kendall

GREECE ATHENA (1-0-0)
Landon Ambeau scored once in each half to help power Greece Athena to a season-opening win. Ambeau gave the Trojans a 1-0 lead in the 25th minute off an assist from Jacob Fisher before scoring again in the 48th minute after a pass from Jacob Basamon. Ryan Schumacher powered one into the goal in the 65th minute unassisted. Schumacher also made six saves as part of the shutout.

PITTSFORD MENDON (1-0-0) 2
Naveen Sidhu and Evan Zavolo netted a goal apiece to lead Mendon’s offense.

WEBSTER THOMAS (0-1-0) 1
McQUAID (1-0-0) 4
Chase Kurz, Keirnan McManus, Oliver Aguirre, and TJ Parr each scored for McQuaid.

GREECE OLYMPIA (0-0-1) 2
NEWARK (0-0-1) 2 Advance on PKs 4-3
Olympia’s Dominic Pellicano netted the equalizer with 10 minutes remaining, but host Newark advanced on PKs to the championship game of the Taylor Bliss Tournament. Ryan Irizarry gave Newark an early lead, and Sam Underhill added the second goal for the Reds. Arnanh Douangdala tied the game at one for Olympia. Newark will play Livonia in the championship on Saturday. A 5 p.m. kickoff is scheduled. Olympia and North Rose-Wolcott will face in the consolation game earlier in the day at 3 p.m.

HOLLEY (0-1-0) 1
Rylan Bohn netted a pair of goal with assists from Finn Halpin and Trey Tryon to lead Batavia. Halpin set up Troy Hawley for Batavia’s third goal.

Elijah Doell netted a pair of goals, and Noah Butler added a score. Brody Tanner finished with the shutout.

PALMYRA-MACEDON 3 (1-0-0)
Zachary Dunay scored a goal for Bloomfield.

CANISTEO-GREENWOOD (1-0-0) 3
DUNDEE/BRADFORD (0-1-0) 2
Brandon Ackerman and Carson Chaffee each scored in the first 20 minutes of the first half to help Canisteo-Greenwood pick up the win. Kevin Sirianni scored in the 66th minute off of an assist from Parker Dodge.

RED CREEK (1-0-0) 3
MEXICO (III) 2
Connor Lorenz, Clifford Paige IV, and Niall Wynne each found the back of the net to lead Red Creek to the win.

LIVONIA (1-0-0) 6
NORTH ROSE-WOLCOTT (0-1-0) 0
Gavyn Phillips scored three second-half goals to help Livonia secure a victory and advance to the championship of the Taylor Bliss Tournament at Newark. Shea Maxwell assisted Rider Vanzandt in the sixth minute to open the scoring for the Bulldogs. Lincoln Richardson scored in the eighth minute off a Braden Roller assist before assisting a Maxwell goal in the 16th minute.  Francis Grant assisted on two of Phillips’ goals, and Aaron Lubberts assisted the other. Kaidan O’Connor finished with four saves. Oliver Taylor had a save. Livonia will face host Newark in the tournament championship on Saturday. A 5 p.m. started time is scheduled. North Rose-Wolcott will meet Greece Olympia.

KENDALL (1-0-0) 3
Pablo Reyes-Rosario scored a pair of goals and assisted another as host Kendall won the championship of its tournament. Jonathan Esposito scored and had an assist. Brandon Barrett assisted on a goal. Jonathan Conte saved 12 shots.
