Greece Post 468 saw its magical season come to an end on Sunday night with an 11-0 shutout loss in five innings to Post 70 (North Carolina) in the third and final game of their 2025 American Legion World Series group play. Greece went 0-3 in the three games, being outscored by opponents 34-3.
Mason Davey and Cam Barbulean had a single each, recording the only two hits on the night for Greece.
Post 70 put up five runs in the top of the first thanks to some sloppy defense from Greece and RBI hits from Micah Simpson and Reagan Smith.
Post 70 added three runs in the second, two runs in the third and one in the fourth to give them 11 on the day.
Smith led the team in RBI on the game with three. Simpson and Connor Evans also had multi-RBI games for Post 70.
Kolt Nelson hurled four scoreless innings on the mound for Post 70, allowing just two hits and no walks, fanning six.
Greece Post 468 ends its season at 24-9 on the year, winning the New York State and Northeast Regional title.
